Chapter 14 House of Night?

"Who's gone?" Louis asked walking in the room.

"Louis, where were you?" I shouted as I tried to stand up.

"I was in the lobby, but more importantly, what happened?" he asked in a concerned tone.

"Oh, nothing I just had a major pain in my side, but really it was nothing." I fibbed.

Suddenly I felt another major pain, but this time it was in my leg. I wanted to scream and punch something but, I didn't. I heard Liam mumble something to Niall but I couldn't quitefigure out what.

"What are you talking about?" I asked curiously.

"The house of night, a fledgling school to help fledglings understand their transformation into a full vampire. We had to go there, you need to go too. We can't keep doing it ourselves. We can't keep trying. We will go with you to help you out." Liam answered.

"The house of night? Is that a college?" I asked trying to figure out what he ment.

" Yes, but only for vampires. We will go there first thing in the morning. So everyone get to sleep! We have to travel a long ways tomorrow." Liam replied walking out of the room.

" He's right, well goodnight Kayla." Harry said as he walked out of the room as well.

"Goodnight, see you guys in the morning." I said walking over to my bed.

"Goodnight." Louis and Niall said at the same time. After they all left the room I slowly fell asleep.

" Kayla, Kayla! Wake up we are here!" I heard Louis say. I slowly opened my eyes and saw a huge castle looking like structure in front of me.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"In Montana, this is the house of night." Liam answered like I should've known.

"Oh, it's huge!" I said in awe.

"Yeah, well lets go get you started." Zayn said walking off.

I followed him and started to notice many others staring at me with weird markings on their foreheads.

"What do they have on their forheads and why?" I asked staring at a girls forehead.

"Those are markings, every fledgling that attends here will eventually get them if they haven't aleready." Niall replied.

I looked closely at the girl's forehead, she had a cresent moon lightly showing. She stared at me and smiled.

"Hello there, my name is Megan, and you are?" she asked walking up to me.

"My name is Kayla." I replied with a smile. She had long blondish hair with dark green eyes and a thick gold rim around her pupil. She smiled and asked where I was headed.

"I am heading to get started here, it's my first day." I replied.

"Oh, awesome! I would be more than happy to help you out." she exclaimed.

"Kayla, we have to get going." Louis said grabbing my hand and weiving his fingers in between mine.

"Oh, who's this?" Louis asked staring at Megan.

"I'm Megan, and you are?" Megan replied shaking his hand.

"I'm Louis, Kayla's boyfriend." he said tightening his grip.

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you!" Megan said smiling.

"Same to you, want to come along with us?" I asked.

"No, I cant. I have to get to my next class, but I would be more than happy to show around later!" Megan said grabbing her bag and walking off.

"Well let's go." Louis said pulling me off with him.

We walked to a huge room with a women sitting in the center.

"Why hello there, you must be Kayla. I knew you were coming, you wouldn't heve survived out there another week." she said tapping her fingers on her desk.

"What? I-I would've died?" I asked Louis scarcly.

"I don't know." Louis answered me gripping my hand.

"Well here is this, read it!" she said waving her hand in the air.

Suddenly a book apeared in my hand. The cover read The Fledgling Handbook 101.

"That will help you understand your first few days, and the meanings of all the markings and symbols." she said flipping through the pages of the one she had.

"My name is Vanessa, the head mistriss around here. This young girl here will be your guardian." she said as a girl walked in the room.

"Her job is to protect us Moroi. There are many of them and you are lucky to have one!" she finished.

I stared closely at the girl's forhead but I didn't see a marking or symbol of any kind.

"My name is Rose Hathaway, I know what your thinking. No us guardians don't have symbols or markings because we aren't full fledglings. We are half fledgling and half human. So we're the offspring of a human and a vampire. I am assigned to protect you from the Strigoi. A vampire group that are dedicated to destroying the Moroi, you, and the Dhampir, us," she explained.

"Well, my name is Kayla, this is Louis,Niall,Zayn,Harry,Liam, and Rosemary." I said introducing all of them. Rosemary chuckled at the fact my guardian's name was Rose as well.

"We can protect her!" Louis said stepping in front of me.

"No, Moroi must stay with all others. They may not protect like us." Rose said in a very serious tone.

"Well, then I guess I will be breaking the rules!" Louis said gripping my hand.

"I am sorry sir, but we can't let that happen. You may stay with her at all times but you may not fight the Strigoi until necessary! Understood?" Rose replied.

"Fine!" Louis stated.

"Good, alright Kayla, let's get you in your dorm so you can read the handbook. After you have read it you may get your scheduel for this semester." Rose said guiding me to my dorm. We walked past a room with many students, well, fledglings inside and they each were waving water around in the air. Another room had fledglings controlling Fire, then Air. I was amazed at all they did and how good they were at doing it.

"Here is your dorm, settle in and read the handbook then you can attend class as well." Rose said opening the door.

Hey guys! I know it has been a little while since I updated last, but I needed inspiration and ideas on what I should do. So i did some research on vampires and watched Vampire Academy! Great movie! And the book The Fledgling Handbook 101 is a real book and I just got it and started reading it. It is very interesting and unique. If you ever see it in the bookstore or something, you should check it out! It's pretty neat! Please vote and tell me what you think so far!
