Chapter 29 A Fresh Start

"Where are we going?" I asked as I followed the two of them.

"To our den, the only safe place you could stay without Jesse tracking you." Trent replied as he continued walking.

Suddenly David stopped in his tracks and sniffed the air around him.

"Someone's nearby." He whispered as a stick behind us cracked.

"Who's there?" Trent snarled as he scanned the area around us.

"I don't mean any harm!" A mans voice came from behind a tree.

The voice echoed through my ear, it was Niall's voice.

"Niall?" I mumbled.

"Kayla?" Niall asked as he stepped out from behind the tree.

"Niall! What are you doing here?" I asked.

"To rescue you! Louis was cast under a spell and needs you to reverse it. That creature cast it on him to make him believe it was you. We need your help Kayla!" Niall explained.

"What! He's in danger?" I asked as I teared up slightly.

"He could be if it continues, we have to go save him." Niall said as he held out his hand to me.

I went to grab his hand when David pulled me back.

"It might not be him Kayla. Stay with us." David whispered in my ear.

"No this is really him! Now let me go!" I stated as I squirmed free from his grip.

"Kayla, please it's not safe!" David muttered again.

"My husband is in danger! You can't stop me from going to help him!" I shot back.

"Your wedding ring, it's still missing." Trent added.

"Plus you promised to join our pack, you can't leave once you've joined it" David remarked.

"Kayla, Louis needs our help. If it will make things better, I'll bring her back after she saves him. He needs her, please." Niall joined in.

"Shut-up!" David yelled.

"David! Stop! I'm going to help him." I shouted back as I walked up to Niall.

I reached out and grabbed Niall's hand. He gently pulled me to his chest and the warmth of his body made me feel relieved.

"Kayla." Trent sighed as he stepped back.

"Let's go." I mumbled.

I quickly shut my eyes and gripped onto Niall as we began to float. My feet gently hit the ground and I slowly opened my eyes.

"Stay quiet, Louis is in your bedroom. If she sees you, who knows what will happen." Niall whispered as we crept over to the bedroom door.

I gently knocked on the door. Niall jumped up and jerked me back, pushing me behind him.

"Yes?" Louis's voice asked as the door slowly opened.

"Louis!" I shouted as I jumped out from behind Niall.

I rushed up to him and hugged him tightly. His arms wrapped around me and held me tight.

"What do you think you're doing?" A voice echoed behind Louis.

"Kayla? Wait but, I'm confused." Louis replied confusingly.

"Louis please, don't listen to her!" I stated trying to convince him.

"Don't listen to her! She's a little liar trying to take me from you!" The girl fought back.

"Louis, Kayla is right here in front of you. Don't be fooled by her." Niall said as he rested his hand on my shoulder.

"He's mine!" The girl screamed as her eyes faded to a dark black.

"Kayla?" Louis asked as he cocked his head to the side and stared at the girl.

"I said he's mine!" She said as her voice deepened.

"Kayla, run!" Niall shouted as I jolted out of the room.

I heard footsteps chasing me, but I refused to look as I locked myself in the bathroom.

"You can't hide!" The voice shouted on the other side of the door.

I shivered at the voice and sat in front of the door.

"Kayla?" A familiar voice echoed throughout the bathroom.

"Kayla, right? You'll be fine, come on." The voice said once more.

I slowly looked up and saw a young man standing there.

"Kayla, come on before its to late." the man finished as he reached his hand out to mine.

Hesitantly I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. I couldn't make out his face, but his voice and presence made me feel safe.

"Who are you?" I asked with a slight bit of concern in my voice.

Before I could get an answer, the room swirled and changed scenery. The air was cool and trees now surrounded us.

"Where are we?" I asked, scanning my surroundings.

"Somewhere safe." He answered.
