After venturing off into the city, Verity and Scott searched the endless sea of sky high buildings for what seemed like hours for that one building that would happen to be the hospital Vappy was resting in.

The hot Alolan sun they were not used to made them both feel as if they were melting, and like they were leaving a bit of themselves with every step. Scott suffering the most due to the inconvenience of his jet black fur. His tongue hanging out the side of his mouth and panting for at least a drop of water. The hats he and Verity bought at a small store kept the sun out of his eyes, but other than that, they barely did anything else.

Scott looked up to see a building in the distance. It was a hospital, and something began to draw him to it. A familiar aura radiating from it that was calming, honest, and sweet that was unlike the chaos of everyone around it. Even from far away, it reminded him of something- or someone special he knew.

"Scott, you okay?" Verity cocked her head to the side as she placed one paw on Scott's warm shoulder. Scott jumped up, unaware that he spaced out, and quickly returned to reality.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Scott mumbled, brushing Verity's paw away, and took another look up at the hospital in the distance. "Verity, I think we've found her."

"Scott, I thought the same thing." Verity frowned, wiping a bead of sweat on her forehead. "But it's so far! One minute more in this heat and I'll be sushi!"

Scott snickered a bit then placed a soft gaze on Verity, trying to reassure her. "Rumor has it that a bus comes through here every so often." Scott pause for to readjust his red and white baseball cap.  "Maybe it could do the work for us."

"Oh look! Here it comes!" Verity pointed out in the distance. A short yellow bus slowly made it's way up the street and paused in front of the two as they boarded it.

The blast of cool, refreshing air that greeted the two as they walked in the hospital lobby made them feel like they were walking from two different worlds, and it was the best feeling ever after a long walk in the tropical heat. A sigh of relief came from the two.

The lobby was huge and held everything in it from cute little gift shops that featured small fluffy multicolored plushies in the front to full on restaurants. Seeing all this made Scott begin to wonder if they were at the right place.

As they boarded the escalator, Scott's mind started to wander more. "Is Vappy okay? How long will it take for her to recover? How severe are her injuries?" The further up they scaled, the more reality started to settle in, and for the first time, Scott became really nervous to visit Vappy once again. A minute passed, splitting apart his thoughts. Verity glanced over her shoulder to study Scott, but turned away once he glanced back at her.

The upper level appeared tasteless and without color, the walls were painted a pale white, and the doors were ash gray. The seemingly endless hallway laid ahead of them, and it would feel like an eternity until Scott felt Vappy's warm aura once more. Scott longed for that feeling again. The feeling that reminded you that there was someone thinking about you, loving you. That feeling like you owned everything, like you were on top of the world.

Verity walked alongside Scott for what seemed like hours until she suddenly braked in front of a door that read "182" in bold silver letters. She turned around and gazed at Scott wonderingly. Her curious gaze practically asked her question for her.

That door was the only thing separating the two. Suddenly, Scott's anxiety was overcome by a feeling of adrenaline and excitement, and his paws became clammy as he gazed at the door. But what rested on the other side was more than he could ever expect.

Scott glanced over to Verity, smiling from ear to ear, and whispered,"Yes, this is her." and gave the squeaky doorknob a quick turn before pushing it open gently.

The hospital room was surprisingly small, but gave off a relaxing aura. A large window accompanied by a blue fluffy bed stretched out a golden beam of sunlight to fill the room. There was a bathroom to the left and a sink to the right. What was in the middle?

A long bed with a small pale blue Vaporeon swaddled up in white bedsheets. She gently pulled herself up, favoring her left arm wrapped neatly in a bandage. The top half of her head was wrapped in bandages also, stopping just right above her sparkling deep blue eyes, which were still heavy from her long nap, but widened to realize she had visitors. Verity's gaze softened at the sight of her.

Scott's joyfulness took over, bringing him into a leap right beside Vappy's bedside and taking her into his arms with a firm but gentle grip. Verity came beside them, plastering a big smile onto her face. Vappy instantly wriggled out of Scott's grip, furrowing her eyebrows.

"Excuse me? Who are you?"
