It's the first day of school an I'm already bored and tired. I'm a junior dance major at Calleo School of the Arts. I walked into my 3rd period class, gym, and saw Ricky. I never really noticed him last year or the year before but he looked different. He had shoulder length black hair and olive green eyes with a little hazel mixed in. He was built and tall. He wasn't you're average jock. He was in the artist major. He didn't play sports or go out with my dance friends or cheerleaders. He was quiet and mysterious but not someone to mess with. I was the last person to come to class and the only seat open was the one next to him. I sat in it but Ricky didn't seem to notice. "okay class I'm Coach Nelson, welcome back. We'll start off by me obtaining your height and weight records, but first I will take attendance." the coach said. He took attendance and started taking our measurements. Everyone was average but the tallest was Ricky. "son, seems you're 6'4 and 198lbs." coach said. Ricky nodded and went back to his seat while the other guys were staring. Coach went on to tell us more about the class and the bell rang. It was lunch time. I was so happy because I was afraid my stomach was making the loudest growls it possibly could to embarrass me. I gathered my stuff and headed out. Ricky was the first to leave. As soon as I came out of the room and turned to the left to head to the lunch room, I saw Max, the bully jock band major that was big and always bothered me. "hey sweetie, how was your summer? I bet you missed me, especially at nights." he teased. I kept walking not looking at him but at the busy hallway with hungry students. "summer wa wonderful without you, especially in the nights." I teased back. He glared and frowned. "you and I both know you're lying." he chuckled and started smiling again. "leave me alone" I said. "if you give me what I want, I promise you I will leave you alone even though you won't want me to." he said. I stopped and turned towards his grinning face."no" I said and walked away when he hit my butt. I turned around and was furious. "listen, I'm going through this again this year. I know what you want and you will never get it. I hate you and you wouldn't satisfy me anyways." I said angrily. My voice echoed because the hall was empty and it was just us. I walked away but he grabbed my arm and slammed me against the wall. "oh yeah, well how about I take what I want right now!" he said. I started fighting my way out of his closed tight fists, but there was no way. He was stronger than me and no one was there to help me. "let me go!" I screamed. He put one of his hands on my mouth. "let her go" I heard a voice say. It was Ricky standing behind Max. Max turned to look at Ricky while holding me. "stay out of it wierdo" he said. He turned back to me like he expected Ricky to leave. "I said let her go" Ricky said sternly. Max grew angry and let go of me to turn and push Ricky. "or what punk?" Max asked. I tried to run but Max quickly turned back to catch me. I screamed then Ricky grabbed Max by the collar and slammed him against a locker while I fell to the floor at his release. I could tell Max was terrified of Ricky. Who wouldn't be? Okay, okay we can share her. Just let me go." Max pleaded. "I don't want anything from her. You and your friends better leaver her alone or I'll make sure you'll be injured for the football season." Ricky threatened. They stared at each other like two boiling tea pots. Ricky finally let go and Max fell to the floor panting but quickly got up to run away. "thank you" I said looking up at Ricky. He held out his hand to help me up. I took it and stood. Then, he walked away and down the hall like nothing happened.

After the awkward lunch, was my dance class. I loved to dance so this class was my favorite. Our dance teacher, whom we had last year, told us that we would be preparing for our first concert which was dedicated to the late Michael Jackson. We learned our new dance routines. It felt great to dance again. I asked my teacher after class if I could come to the dance studio later to prepare myself more and get used to old times. She said "sure, but I won't be here after 6 because of a meeting. The janitors will be though." I said thank you and went to my next class. For the rest of the day no one bothered me. Not Max or his friends. This year was going to be better, I thought.

I went home and told my mom I would be leaving later to go back to the dance studio at school to get my body used to the dancing again. She nodded and said to be careful and that she would be home and if I needed anything blah blah blah. The usual stuff parents say to their kids.

I went to the dancing studio at school. I used a key I got from my dance teacher to get in. There was nobody at school and it was dark and scary.I turned on themlights and took in the familiar air of the studio and smiled. I stretched and did the breathing techniques I learned in class. I turned on some classical to music to warm up. The next thing I know, I was leaping across the floor and twirling like a ballerina. A few minutes passed when I heard a sudden loud thump. I stopped dancing and turned off the music. "is anybody there?" I asked. I turned to where I thought the sound came from. I think it came from the janitors closet outside of the studio. Just to make sure it was a janitor, I walked out and towards the closet. I opened it and saw Ricky - hanging himself.
