Seth was sitting on the porch, with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders, the cool wind that was blowing, made his eyes glaze

Earlier was the worse. He and Dakota were brushing the horses, she was teaching him the proper technique and he was actually having fun. Until AJ came by. He hated the way AJ acted like he wasn't even there, he would flirt with Dakota and touch her, Seth scowled from where he was when AJ wrapped his arms around her from behind

Dakota immediately ditched him and decided to go pick up eggs with AJ and Seth caught a glimpse of them kissing through the barn window and it made his blood boil. He didn't know why, it just did. It bothered him to no end.

He was shaken out of thoughts when a cup was held in front his face

"Sweet tea," Dakota said and gave him a soft smile

He peered into the cup questioningly

"It's what?" He asked, arching am eyebrow and he actually regretted asking that question because hurt spread across her face. She cleared her throat and looked away from him

"You know, a tea bag and water, with sweetner and ice," she explained

"You mean iced tea," he corrected and she resisted slapping him because that kinda hurt, everyone around here called it sweet tea.

"Well round here, we call it sweet tea, sorry if it's not fancy like what you're accustomed to in Hollywood," she said and attempted to leave and Seth felt like shit so when she passed him, he grabbed her hand and she froze, staring at their joined hands with a far away look in her eyes

"Maybe I like the sweet tea better," he said with a lip bite, hoping she caught his hidden meaning

"So what've you been up to since I left?" He asked, sitting back down

She took a breath and sat down on the bannister, putting her feet on it and staring into the field

"Been working here since I was 16 years, so basically since you left," she said with a shrug

"That's basically it." She said

"I've seen some of your movies, you're talented," she complimented and Seth smiled into his cup of sweet tea

"I uh, I missed you Dakota," he revealed and his eyes shone at her

She heard what he said but she didn't wanna believe it so she laughed

"Yeah right Seth," she said with a shake of her head as she brought her legs up

"What's that mean?" He asked, looking up at her in confusion

"How could you have missed me when you didn't seem too keen on staying? You just upped and left," she shrugged

"Dakota-" Seth began

"You know I had the biggest crush on you," she admitted with a pitiful smile and she didn't hear Seth's sharp intake of breath

"You what?" He whispered and she nodded

"When we were 16, I thought you were amazing, I had the biggest crush on you, then you left. Obviously, it wasn't mutual," she said, again ending in a shrug

"But's it's alright. You left and 2 years later, in strode AJ." She said with a smile and Seth opened his mouth to say something

"Kota, come help with dinner!" Seth's grandmother, Maria called

Dakota smiled at him and got off the bannister, slipping on her slippers

"That's my cue," she said and saluted, opening the screen door, then she slid the glass door and went in

Seth put down the glass and rubbed an exhausted hand over his face. That was the one reason he refused to come back here all those years ago. He had made it big and refused to look back because of the way he felt toward his best friend, he knew if there was one person that could bring him back, it was her.

He left thinking when he went back home, was when he didn't feel anything for her, but shit. He just listened to her confess that she had feelings for him and now, he didn't know what the hell he felt but he knew whatever he was feeling, would leave him in a hole of darkness. He saw no circumstance where he got what he wanted
