Know it's been a while since I posted, but I'm back now.... And hey look, OVER 1K! Thank you so much to each person who has actually taken time to read this mess of a story. It's all over the place, crazy, silly, over the top, ridiculous, but I LOVE writing it and the fact I get so many comments and votes makes it feel even better! Really enjoyed writing this chapter, felt like I was staying with the characters more than I have been! Hope you all enjoy! Stay awesome, Dani X
~She could never be happy, because for her, happy was the place where the ocean met the sky~
"Welcome to the Levi Inn." Levi said dramatically. "Where all are welcome, especially people with the name Laken." I grinned at his back.
He'd tried all the way here to make me feel a little better. He knew I was stressed, with the whole overlook of the situation, as well as the fact I now was staying with Levi. A guy who I very much liked, had kissed, and who also knew more about me than anyone id really ever met, and I hadn't told him one fact about me.
Levi got me. Somehow- maybe it was just written in his genes, or maybe it was just me- Levi had a knack for understanding where my head was at at just the right time. I kind of liked it.
I also liked the fact that Levi knew, without a doubt, that now was not the time for deep discussions and what-to-do-next's. He hadn't even mentioned the kiss... Well kisses.
It was almost like he'd taken challenge to making me smile. I couldn't say I was going bark out with laughter, because at the moment, my insides felt heavy like they'd doubled in side, but the gesture itself helped to ease a little off. He'd taken it on himself to try to make me feel better. I liked that. I respected that. It reminded me of something my dad would do. Or my brother, definitely my brother.
Levi placed my bag on the floor, spinning to face me.
"Feels like Christmas." He said, grinning. "New things." He winked, before turning on his heel and walking into the kitchen.
"Disappointing Christmas." I muttered low enough that he didn't hear. I followed cautiously, ringing my hands slowly. I felt like an intruder here. No matter how much he would try to make me feel comfortable, I would always be walking on egg shells.
I'd always been like that, though.
When I was younger and with friends, going to there houses was always awkward and I'd be desperate just to get to their bedroom and away from the parents.
Now I felt like Levi was one of those parents, and I just wanted to hole up until he left before emerging again. I'd have to work on that.
"Do you want anything to drink?" Levi, on the other hand, looked more than happy to have me here. He was grinning as he watched me amble my way through his kitchen. I thought, just for a second, I was seeing the same Levi id met on that first night. The cocky, arrogant, insanely hot sarcastic guy. I liked that guy. Then again, I liked all of him.
"Urm no thanks." I said, biting my bottom lip.
There was a beat of silence. "Laken?" Levi said slowly. I narrowed my eyes in question. "You're acting weird. Like, you're embarrassed."
Well, that's because in am, I thought. Instead, I shrugged a shoulder and offered a small smile. "I'm fine." I said.
"Stop it." Levi said.
I tilted my head. "Stop what?"
He grinned. "You're acting like you don't know me." He said. "You look uncomfortable."
Damn, could he be less observant for one second? "I'm not...uncomfortable." Okay, when he looked at me like that, uncomfortable definitely wasn't the word.
