It's the year 2018.

The cold winter air lifted from the ground, being pushed out by the warm hands embracing the city. A slight breeze wafted through the air, whistling a morning tune, greeting the commuters a breath of fresh air as they held their hats down. The trees danced away, the leaves swaying along and cheering on the city, green as green could be. Spring was in the air and this was a fresh new start.

Apartments, shops lined down the street, slowly coming back to life for a new week. Gates loomed nearby in-between all of it, leading to a building which was grand in itself and on the outside, one that held a lot of history. After the last devastation that befell the school, 4 years ago, the building had recently undergone renovation, boasting an all-new, state of the art, stadium, new classrooms, a new cafeteria and other new things.

Down the road, a person was whistling away, walking on the pavement, twirling keys on their fingers. Boasting a trench coat, a blue and white marbled shirt, jeans and trainers. The necklace they wore boasted a circular symbol with a cross going through it glinted in the sunlight pouring down. "Today's gonna be a good year. I can feel it." He said to himself. Behind him, a robot with three eyes, a spherical orb who was built with aluminium metal with three arms, one boasting a flamethrower and buzzsaw and a thruster to keep them afloat, complete with a bowler hat, followed behind.

"Mister Sakurai, sir, are you certain that this year will be a good year?" The robot said, talking in a British accent. "Of course, your disappearance for that certain amount of time really caught everyone off guard."

"Of course, Codsworth." Sakurai said. "The Sony Academy down the road were so grateful that we did what we did, they gifted you to me, as thanks. With you by my side. There's nothing I can't do now." This year was going to be a new year for them all. Codsworth inspected the area with his three robotic eyes, one of them keeping an eye on Sakurai. "Unfortunately, with what happened to Iwata, I didn't know if I could carry on as the president of this academy." He winced as sad memories flooded in. When he went to visit his mentor on his death bed, he wish he could unsee what he had saw. He never once thought that he would go so quickly and his health deteriorated the way he did. He felt the slight ache in his heart, the violinist tugging at his heart strings.

"Make me proud and make this academy as best as best could be." Were his last words which were etched into Sakurai's head before he departed for Rainbow Road. Sakurai's head lowered slightly, looking at the pavement tiles as he walked, a sad cloud looming over his head.

"I know that the loss of Iwata has not settled well with you, sir, but you must know that he has great faith in you, for you to go on." Codsworth said, trying to lighten the atmosphere. "He wouldn't have passed down the role of President to you, so long ago for nothing." Sakurai shrugged his shoulders. He stopped in front of two looming gates. At the top, the symbol on his necklace, was also engraved onto the gate. He lifted the key up to the lock. He saw a rose hanging out of the gate. Sakurai lowered the key and put his face closer to the rose to inspect it.

"What is this...?" He whispered. His hand slowly rose up, the tip of his finger moving towards the petal. Just as it the finger touched it slightly, rainbow shocks shot out of the rose and he was thrown back by the sheer force of it. His back skidded on the pavement, creating a crater-like path, away from the gate. He was breathing heavily, clutching his right arm.

"Mister Sakurai!" Codsworth came over to him, looking at him. "What happened?" Sakurai was still staring at the rose, which was now glowing with a dark aura. He tilted his head. What he felt when he touched the rose, it was a power, something he had never experienced.

The rose began glowing, dripping with darkness, the darkness hitting the ground, like oil. And in a flash of light, it disappeared into thin air. "Where did it go?" Sakurai asked. Codsworth flew over to the gate, inspecting it. Sakurai winced in pain and pushed himself off of the ground with his good hand, tumbling around, tipsy. He clutched onto his arm and limped slightly towards the gate and Codsworth. A hand touched his shoulder.
