After Sakurai was taken in by Chrom and Lucina, followed in by Robin after the huge ruckus that had occurred earlier, the first few students began to make their way to the entrance.
"Link!" A girl in brown pants and a blue top with embroidery sauntered around the area. "Link! Whe-- oh." She was stopped by the gates, or what was once a tall, standing gate. Instead, it was bent, open and there was debris forming a path towards a pile of rubble which once stood a monument. "Are we late?" She asked herself. She heard a clang. She turned around and saw a hook embedded into the brick pillar which held the gate. The chain began shaking, making a rattling sound as something pulled in.
A shout of cheering could be heard. A boy shot from the skies and landed on the ground, the hook on the wall releasing its grip and reeling back into its place. "Boy am I ready for another smashing year!" He exclaimed, gleaming. He pushed back his green hat, hands proudly on his hips, his chest puffed out a little.
"For someone who went through all that calamity 3 years ago, you sure are upbeat." A deep voice chuckled. The boy quickly lost his demeanour and squinted at the tall being who waltzed through the school gates, an aura of evil surrounding them.
"Shut it, Ganon." Link grumbled, stomping in behind. "Whatever happened back then is over and done with. I'm looking forward to training and becoming more powerful, so when we go back, we'll have a good fight!" He pumped his fist in the air.
Ganon stopped his waltzing and turned around. He crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. "You have a lot to learn. I'm sure Princess Zelda could help, or if I'm feeling nice, I might just teach you a tip or two."
"Hey, you were so nice last time. Why the edgy attitude?" Link chuckled, pocketing his hookshot into his black hole of a pocket. He was met with a discerned sigh.
"A change never hurt no one." Ganon grumbled.
"It hurt me a little." Link joked. Ganon's fist glowed purple. Link immediately backed down. Zelda popped up in-between them, putting her arms out to keep them apart.
"Hey, no more. Breath of the Wild was enough for you two to take your anger out on each other." Zelda warned them. Link's eyes lit up like the 4th of July while Ganon had his arms folded still, a smug look etched onto his face. The tension was extremely dense between them. "What really matters is..." Zelda turned back around to face the gate. The gate was broken in, there was a crater in the ground, sliding towards, what is left of the statue... Or fountain? Zelda tilted her head, questioning it. "Did they have a brawl here already? Are we late?"
"I'm afraid that's no brawl, Ms Zelda." A gruffly voice sounded next to them. Zelda turned, Link and Ganon inspecting too.
"SNAKE?" Zelda said aghast. "I THOUGHT YOU LEFT!" She covered her mouth. Snake chuckled, popping a cigarette into his mouth.
"Ms. Zelda, I left to undertake some very important business but I would have come back at some point. Sakurai decided to send me a letter while I was out on a mission with some other comrades. Needless to say, I was here in a heartbeat. This place is my second home." Snake took out the cigarette with his two fingers and blew smoke into the summer air. "As I was saying," He put the cigarette back into his mouth. "This wreckage that you're seeing at the moment, that wasn't natural. Something's happened here."
While Zelda and Snake were talking to each other, theorising what could have happened, Ganon walked over to the wreckage to inspect it. He could see that someone took massive injury from it. "We have a powerful force at play here." Ganon said to himself. "I can sense a disturbance in the atmosphere here. It seems un-comforting."
Link joined Ganon. "Well Inspector Gadget, what do we have?" He asked. Ganon rolled his eyes. Link knelt down to the ground, picking up a red rose petal, inspecting it, "When did Mr Sakurai start gardening here?" Link asked. He turned it around. There was nothing unusual about it, but Link couldn't help but feel that slight pinch of salt about it. He let it flutter to the ground. He didn't notice it dissolve away into tiny dark particles. Link stood up and turned around. Zelda's face was deep in thought. Snake had now disappeared. Link walked over to Zelda. She had her hand on her chin. "Well?" He asked.
