My, what a lovely day.
I slowly gain consciousness, keeping my eyes closed. I was on a moving vehicle of some sort, or at least that's what it felt like. My hands were tied behind my back, mouth gagged. I'm not worried; I've been in worse situations. I can get out of this one. I manage to tap my fingers. My gloves were still on, and I smile. There's no possible way that they can get them off, they automatically electrocute the person who attempts to forcibly take them away. The vehicle halts to a stop, and the doors open to my left, people rushing on, and roughly seizing me by the arms, throwing me out. I finally crack my eyes open to see the truck leaving in the distance. Someone approaches me from behind and rips the gag out of my mouth, bringing me to my knees. Footsteps sound in front of me, and stop.
"Look at me." I refuse to. I hear a sigh follow by a faint "do it". Pain arcs across my back as an electric stick slams into my back. I groan out as the stick is taken away.
"I said, look at me." It's not worth getting electrocuted again, so I finally give the person in front of me the satisfaction. A tall man stood over me, dressed in a dark navy blue suit, sporting a white top hat. He smirks. "Good. Now then, what's your name?"
"Why do you require that info?" I inquire. The stick is jabbed in my back again more powerful and more painful than before, and the man laughs.
"Tsk, wrong answer." He waves the person behind me away, and the pain stops. Gasping, I look at him in the eye.
"Itari," I lie smoothly. I knew the drill about lying, it was always easier to lie when it was part of the truth. The man raises an eyebrow, wanting a last name too. I continue to stare at him, and he waves Mr. Electrocutioner away.
"So, Itari." He starts pacing around me. "We're just going to ask you a few questions, and we'll let you go. How does that sound?" I nod, and when he doesn't reply, I give him verbal recognition.
"That's fine."
"Do you know the events of last night?"
"Several people were killed." The man gave his approval with a small nod.
"Very good. And do you know who any of the people were?"
"Government officials. Innocent people too."
"Do you have any relations with any of these people?"
"No."
"Alright." He claps his hands and someone brings him a sheet of paper. "I'm just going to read off a few names here, and you're going to tell me if you recognize them or not." Seems easy enough. He clears his throat and reads the first name.
"Orion Ogawa." Or not.
"Well who wouldn't know him?"
"How much do you know about him?"
"Uh... wasn't he like the leader of some military group or something?" The man sighs.
"Yes, anything else?"
"Uh..." I shake my head. He looks warily at me and then continues down the list. Some were harder to lie about than others. I knew every one of the names he read off, but I refused to tell him that.
"Alright." He scrunches up the paper and tosses it to the side. "You're good to go." The cuffs are taken off of me, and I immediately bring my hands forward, rubbing my wrists.
"Oh and I do have one more question."
"Hm?"
"What are the gloves for?" Well crap. I pretend to continue rubbing my wrists and then look up.
"I was tired of being attacked, so I tried making stuff to defend myself." The man smiles, and then walks away. Good. I was tired of that jerk. Pain courses through my body again, and I grit my teeth, shooting a cold stare at him. I should had expected this.
"I th-th-thought you-you would l-let me go," I manage out. The man turns around.
"Of course. I'm not done with you yet." He grins wildly as I go unconscious, his top hat the last thing I see before my vision fades.
