Whoopdeedoo,
The world's gone askew.
They rise; they fall,
And I will end them all.I snap back awake, sirens filling my ears. I quickly stand up, looking outside. The sky was now completely dark, the stars and moon hidden by clouds. The door opens behind me, and a guard walks through with a few keys. He unlocks the cell, and walks in.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"Plague's been spotted not too far from here, we're going to be transferring you to a different location." Oh goodie. Time seems to slow to a crawl as I watch him walk up to me, the sirens almost silent as my mind whirls with thoughts:
His steps were heavy, head drooping, must had not wanted to wake up at this time. Means he's tired, and won't react as well as he normally would.
He favored his left arm, it was hanging weaker than his right arm, though he hid it well.
His nose has been broken multiple times, and is actually in the process of healing again.
He had confidence, his posture was almost perfect, only slightly hunched, probably from the tiredness, and pride was shown in each step he took. Given that, he'll most likely be also over-confident, making him bad with defense, since he prefers to be on the offensive.
I continue thinking, as his hand comes up to my neck.
"The band won't allow you to leave the cell, so we have to take it off." Time to strike. My mind forms a quick plan as the band falls from my neck into his hands. He steps away, giving me a precious few seconds to formulate everything properly, and then I start to attack. I glance out the window, giving him a confused look.
"The hell is that?" I ask, squinting at nothing. The guard looks at me, a little annoyed.
"Let me see," he grumbles, walking over to the window. That was his first and last mistake. I snap my leg out, landing it squarely on his back, making him stumble forwards a bit. I grab his left arm, twisting it back as he yelps out in pain, and he tries to turn back around to punch with his other arm. I duck, avoiding it, and punch him in the nose. He groans, and tries to throw another punch at me, but I was too quick. A quick jab in the side, and he falls to the floor, exhausted and in pain.
"It's good to be back in business," I say, blade extended, quickly slitting his throat, ending his misery. No need to mark him, no one's going to know he's dead. I grab his keys, and loot him, swiping a couple of key cards as well, along with a small pistol. I dash out the door, into a hallway. I've must had been one of the last people to leave, no one else was around. Swiping one of his key cards on the door, I jump over the staircase rail, dropping to the ground floor, making my way out. If I could snag a vehicle of some sorts, that would be an added bonus. There was another flight of stairs, and I drop down them quickly. It seemed to be a hangar of some sorts, a couple small fighter planes remaining. I hop into one, using a different key card to start the engine. Guess I was lucky. The sirens cut off, or that was just the plane being too loud. Either way, it was a bit concerning. The fighter does a vertical takeoff, the hangar doors in front of me opening, and before I knew it, I was out of that miserable place. I glance behind me, looking at the building. I wasn't truly on the ground floor, rather, it was a very tall building, appearing that the only way to enter it was via plane. I face back forwards. I had a sick feeling about this. The sky in front of me didn't look normal.
"Oh. My. God."
In front of me was perhaps one of the most terrifying things I've seen, a dark cloud swarming, engulfing everything in its path, appearing to have a million red eyes. "Shit shit shit shit..." I pull the wheel down, the plane shooting straight up as I flip over and head the other direction as fast as I could. Was this the plague that everyone was talking about? I don't want to know. I was gone from the city, leaving it behind me, and I didn't look back.
