As I ran, I took no care of to what was behind me, I just focused on running towards the shadows. I almost made it there without any attacks, except that my shadow magic that I was using so that they could not attack me slipped, and one managed to land their claws into my skin.
Now you see, the claws that where on this monster where horrible. Long and hooked at the end, they where almost like dragon claws. and another fact about their claws was that they where covered in an acidic poison, that like themselves, would rot away the host from the inside out.
I had been fortunate to escape these claws until now, when one managed to hook onto the flesh in my arm, and the rest trailing down, leaving deep wounds. That was also about the time I finally reached the shadow I had been aiming for and I ran straight through, into nothingness.
It turns out the "nothingness" had a good side to it. It detached the monster hanging off of me, but it still took it with me. I was just glad to have it's claws out of my skin finally. While I could heal decently, I know I would not be able to recover by myself from the scratch, the danger of the wound was growing and I was dreading see the actual damage in the light.
And then we reached the edge of "nothingness" where we had been floating, and I saw light from the other end of the darkness. I tried pushing myself to see if I could go faster at all and hopefully escape the monster that was with me.
I had also decided to stop trying to pronounce it's name and from hence forth, I shall just call it "monster". The poison was starting to get to my brain clearly, or was it the lack of food, water, and sleep?
And then I fell out onto the hard unforgiving ground. I was blinded by the light, but I could hear people, shouting at what I assumed to be either the monster of me, because I honestly can say not many people could have expected a beat up Rava girl to come out of a tunnel of nothingness, and followed by a monster at that.
I also hoped that monster would not kill them.
Luckily for me, the random strangers killed the monster while I lay there in a daze, the poison for sure working it's way into my veins by now. I felt gentle hands brush my hair away from my face, and a few gasp's of surprise.
The strangers where having quite the strange day. A random girl fall out of nowhere and she has the wings of the soon-to-be-extinct Rava, not to mention said random girl also looks like a fearie. Most old people would probably have a heart attack or another problem, while some people might faint.
I heard mumbling in the background, a sure sign that the people where wondering what to do with me. I twitched a bit and tried to open my eyes, the poison slowing down my body so every little twitch was a struggle. I managed one, my good eye, the orange one, and was shocked at the party of people who had saved me.
They just so happened to vampires. I could tell by their skin, and the way their eyes glowed slightly red. And the fact that it was night meant that they where hunting. Not for humans I hoped. The one that must of brushed back my hair earlier, noticed that I was staring at all them, and shushed everyone.
And then I found myself being stared down by a pack of vampires, who now that I looked closer, which I was able to because they where all staring at me, also contained some werewolves, who not as many thought were mortal enemies, but actually in an alliance with the vampires, and both the werewolf King and the vampire King where pretty good friends from the rumors I had heard.
I shrugged this off as the boy next to me spoke in a low tone, "Hullo there miss, are you okay?"
I have to admit, being the princess I am trained in manners and to always be nice to someone, but at this point, I honestly did not care what the creatures of the night thought, and I gave him a "No, really, I have poison in my veins from that monster, I just traveled by shadow, and now I am unable to move. I am fine thank you" glare.
He blinked back at me and laughed. I forgot vampires could read minds, so I put walls up in my mind like I had been taught to. He frowned but made no comment. Standing up, he turned to the others, "Warren, go get the first-aid poison kit, I am pretty sure we have the solutions to the poison that flows in her body right now, and the rest of you lot, get the fire started and spread some towels or jackets or something near the fire for her to rest on." and at that, lots of people junped into action.
I just layed there staring at the sky wondering why the heck was my birthday was on such a horrible day. I also decided that I was drunk on the pain, and should stop thinking becuase it was kind of useless with me slipping off into lala land. A.K.A the land of the dead.
The young man sat next to me, and I decided to open my mind up and talk to him, because it barley required any effort at all. "Where am I?" I asked silently, startling the young looking vampire a bit. Looking down at me, he sighed and answered, "We are in the North Mountains, and you really should not be talking, or thinking questions at this stage because truthfully, you could die." And I now discovered that while he was willing to treat me, he also states the obvious.
Again I give him the, "I-shall-talk-because-I-want-to-talk-so-too-freaking-bad-for-you." thought. He went back to ignoring me, and waited patiently for everything to be orginized. When it was, he gently picked me up, though I still hissed at pain when the motion caused my body to move (of course I know that moving me by picking me up was going to hurt, I just did not expect the rush of pain to be felt all over my body) and brought me in front of the fire, and layed me down on the towel and blankets thrown there.
And then he brought out the first-aid kit, and I swallowed. Until now, my faerie healing skills and my fathers had been enough, so this was the first time someone besides my father would help me with first-aid, and this was the first time I was also unable to move.
I really hated today, As I started to drift off again, and this time when I went, despite mystery vampire boy shaking my shoulder and yelling at me,I fell into a slumber.
Of course, me falling into a slumber worked only for a bit to dull the pain. And then it came back at full force. When will time stop screwing with me? Or pain rather, for time was not really jerking me around, it was more like pain. Apparently I was due for a new dosage of it, like I have not suffered enough over the past day.
....Was it a day? All I see is darkness, but I am not traveling through the shadows, and I am definatly not dead. I think. Come to think about it, where is here? What time is it? Am I alive? What about the pack of werewolves and vampires? And monster?
....Nevermind, monster is dead, the pack killed him.
And slowly, ever so slowly, I can feel myself waking up. And the pain decided to raise it's head and snarl at me, making me twinge for a second, before realizing that I could not move my body. Only then did I start to worry about my situation.
Now Queen of the Necromancers, poisoned and at the mercy of the creatures of the night which are not all really that friendly, despite what you might think, (apparently I was alive enought to think sarcastic thoughts, what a relief), and I look like a feaire, also not that close in friendships with the night creatures, and my wings. I love my wings dearly, but seriously right now I was kind of worried about what they might do to a (or at least it looks like it to them) Rava Fearie girl.
All alone....out in a forest....where NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON COULD HEAR ME SCREAM IF THEY DECIDE TO HAVE FUN (Their version of fun anyway).
Once again, I am screwed.
