Chapter 1

POV Marlow

“And welcome everyone to the 123rd annual guild magic tournament!” The speaker blares and the audience cheers. “That's right folks we've got the best of the best guilds here this week and we'll see some pretty amazing magic used. And at the end of the week, one guild will be announced the winner and take the grand prize of having all their guilds expenses covered for the whole year!” the guilds all cheer. “That’s right! All rent and renovations and anything your guild will ever do for the next year will be paid for! Now let’s introduce our guilds teams and members!” the whole crowd cheers, the sudden noise making me flinch. The twins to my left chuckle in unison, I roll my eyes.

“A little loud for yeah Marlow?” Alicia’s salmon coloured brows furrowed as she laughed.

“You know she ain't afraid of nothing,” her twin brother Dameon responded, playfully elbowing her side. “She just doesn't like enthusiasm as much as we do.”

“I’m right here you know,” I sign to them and huff in annoyance. “Anyone know why there are limited teams for the games?”

“Because some guilds are bigger than others, it's only fair” she used her finger quotations to show off her still very obvious sarcasm.

“Come on marli, let's get ready for introductions,” Dameon pulls my arm and drags us all to one of the entry tunnels with the rest of our teams. This is the first time our guild is in the games, we’ve been building it in secret, trying to keep a low profile. They don't know us, we're not big news so they'll underestimate us, their mistake.

“First off we have…” I watch and observe as the audience cheers and one by one the guilds chosen teams run into the arena. The announcer introduces the teams and each individual member of the team, name, class, things like that. I’m doing what I do best and learning about everything, being mute makes me quiet, quiet means I’m an extremely good listener. I’m good at reading people, I always know more than people think I do.

“Next we have a guild most known for their loyalty…. And their destructive ways…” the crowd laughed. The three of us puff out our chests, we know who these guys are, we know so much more than they think. “Give a shout for fairy tail!” the whole arena practically explodes as fairy tail’s three designated teams all run out, hell even some of the other guilds are laughing and clapping. I don’t even need to check to know that the twins both have their eyes locked on one particular member of fairy tail, I mean, he is their brother. Yes, Natsu Dragneel is their brother, which makes them Alicia and Dameon Dragneel.

“And now folks, we have a new guild to the games this year!” the crowd goes quiet. “I'm sure we’ve all heard the rumors of this mysterious guild, and now they are here to prove that they are not only real, but that they have some serious power as well! Raise your voices for… POISON TALONS!”
