POV Alicia

He looks at me as I tease him innocently, it's hilarious really.

"Because, zeref doesn't raise punks, he raises killers," I bear my teeth as I emphasis the last word, he flinches slightly but doesn't break eye contact, adorable.

"How are you my brother and sister?!" he tenses up.

"Well you see," I started, acting as innocent as possible. "Mommy and daddy loved each other very much-"

"Not like that!" natsu cuts me off, I straighten my back and can't help but laugh. "I wanna know how you could have trained under igneel, and how you could go so long without me knowing!"

"Ask zeref," Marli signs, not like any of those fairytail guys can understand her though.

"And another thing!" Natsu snaps at us. "Why is your group called the five talons when there's only three of you?!"

"Five talons, five talents, five types of magic between the three of us," Dameon says casually, shoulders shrugged and hands in his pockets, slouching back a little. Natsu takes a step back in confusion, before he can ask another question I decide to wrap up the conversation.

"Well, see you in the arena tomorrow," I wave and turn around, everyone follows.

"You guys better make it to the final round!" I look back over my shoulder. "So we can eat you alive."

I turn back around and flip my hair as we walk out of the lounge and into the bright streets, the sun has started to set but we still have a few outs of sunlight left. We walked along the busy streets just looking around and not really saying anything. We grab some food from a few different stands as we pass by, you know for someone with so little magic, Marli has the appetite of a slayer.

"Next week we start the one on one battles, who you thinking to challenge?" marli signs in between popping food into her mouth.

"I'm thinking blondie," I flip my hair back over my shoulders. "It's obvious he has a thing for her, but I'm thinking you should take the script mage, what you think marli?"

"The shrimp? Yeah I could take her, but who is going to take natsu?"

"Dibs," dameon calls with a toothy grin. I knew he was going to say that but seeing and feeling his excitement only riles me up. We walk in silence as I think over how the next few days are probably going to pan out, the other two teams are gonna cut this week no doubt. In the end it'll be us and the two fairytail teams that have slayers. From their natsu's team will progress with us to the finals where we will present all of our abilities and completely crush them into dust, burn them to ash.

"Careful twin, I can feel you getting cocky."

"Shut up."

Marli laughs, even if no sound comes out. We walk down the cobblestone path and walk to the forest, the guilds secret entrance is here somewhere... there it is. We step inside and are nearly hit with flying whiskey glass. I huff and we make our way until the master calls marlow to his office, she eyes me with a slight spark of fear before she blinks and it's gone. I mean, the headmaster is terrifying, he's a crook and a terrible person. She gulps and walks off, I watch her until she disappears down the hall. I can't help but feel worried about her, the headmaster doesn't care about any of us, he cares about his jewels, he's always taking more than he needs. This competition for a full year of free is too good to pass up. I turn when a hand lands on my shoulder, Dameon gives me his knowing look and an expression in his eyes that reads 'stop worrying so much', I sigh and nod. I get in the kitchen and start pulling what's left of the food out of the fridge, someone really needs to go food shopping soon. I basically throw everything into a frying pan and add some seasonings. The end result is pretty good but as a dish it has no real name, nor does it exist anywhere else. I throw it on three plates and dig through our one single cutlery drawer, I grab knives and forks and everyone sits on the couch.

"We need a new bed for the two of you," marli signed. "You guys are way too old to be sharing a single twin mattress, you guys need at least a queen size."

"Marli, were fine really, besides there is no way for us to find a big enough mission where we can cover a mattress, food, and rent."

Dameon and Marli argue over the room and rent but it's pretty clear, the master is the strongest person in this guild, he could take me and dameon single handedly. Looking around the room you can see it's not the worst living situation, besides the water stains on the walls and ceiling and only having two beds it's pretty good. We don't have all the furniture we could ever need but we can get by just fine, who ever needed a kitchen table when the couch comes with a coffee table anyway? We have heating and air conditioning which is more than I can say for some of the other residents who live in the same building as the guild hall, and we have hot water. Though the bathroom is a little cramped and if anyone in the guild flushes a toilet while you're in the shower you'll get scalded but that's really only a concern for Marli. I finish my food and Dameon washes the dishes in the bathroom because it's the only sink in this place and marli moves to bed first. Me and my twin flop down and struggle for a few minutes before actually finding a comfy spot where we aren't both falling off of the tiny box spring mattress, maybe Marlow was right about needing a bigger one, but Dameon was definitely right about them being too expensive. I close my eyes and drift into the blackness, until a spotlight shines right in my face.

"You haven't paid rent, I would like to know why."

"Don't know what your talking about," I stand abruptly from the chair i'm sitting in. before i'm slammed against the wall with the masters hands around my throat. I try to fire up or use any of my magic but he drains me like a battery.

"Drain magic, energy and power are mine you are nothing against me, not even you, your brother, or your little pet are a match for me together," he spits the words in my face.
