Towards the mid of our senior year, I found out Jonah had a girlfriend named Pearl, sporty girl (unlike myself) with beautiful legs. I didn't know much about her, accept that she was one year our junior. I had no reason to dislike or 'one can even say, hate' her, but the thought of them together made my stomach twirl like a destructive tornado and my heart bleed as if punchered by a very sharp blade. I felt betrayed, of which I had no right feeling, but I did anyway.
School days became harder and harder to attend.
'Get over yourself and move on, its not the end of civilization' I tried consoling myself.
And I did just that........
***********
It was Friday, finally school's out and it's weekend. It was a long tough day and I was most happy that it was over, besides I was tired of accidently bumping into 'Pearl'. All of a sudden she was everywhere, I think my imagination or probably 'jealousy' got the better of me.
Home**
'Hey mom, is it ok if I go with Matty to watch a football match at school later this afternoon?'
'Sure sweety, I'm going to the market also, enjoy!'I put on a pair of denim shorts, a comfortable shirt and left with Matty.
While sitting on the bleachers at the soccer field cheering on our favorite team, I was approached by a boy I knew from class, but never associated with.'Hey Jasmine, I'm not sure if you know me, I'm Cavin, we have a couple of classes together'
'Hi, I know' I replied instantly
'Can I......help you Cavin?'
'Sorry if I'm disturbing you, I just wanted to give you this, (handing me a letter), I heard you would be here today'
'Uhh ok, thank you I suppose'
'Uhm, please let me know what you think after reading it, see yah'I put the letter in my pocket and continued cheering with my bestie.
'What was that all about' Mathilda asked with a smug look on her face.
'Dunno, I'll probably know after reading I guess, but not now, later curious George!!'It was a very hot day, after the match finished, our fav team winning ofcourse, we went for ice cream to cool of a little and headed our separate ways home.
Reaching home, mom was busy cooking our dinner for the evening, I offered to help, trying to speed things up, deep down I was very curious as to what the letter contained. After dinner I quickly cleaned the dishes and excused myself for the evening, 'I'm off mom, if you need anything, I'll be in my room'
'Ok sweety'I jumped on my bed, remove the letter from my pocket. It was a smallish blue envelope, smelling of male deodarant. I opened it and started reading.
Dearest Jasmine❣
