'Moving on'

Time went by like sand through an hour glass, Jonah and myself have not exchange one single word or sentence with one another, the unfamiliar sensation became a torture.

'Jasmine girl, you need to get your head straighten out, this cannot go on' I argued with myself.

I decided to try out new things in the hope of distracting myself from this obsession with Jonah Mc'freakin'Call. He has not done anything or show any attempt of being interested in me apart from staring at me, like a samurai throwing daggers, not in a "I want to kill you" way, more like a "I can't help myself" way, which ofcourse made me feeling a little bit better.

'So Jaz, I heard Mason asked you out on a date, are you going!!!!' Matty asked with so much excitement.
'I think so Matty, I have to date eventually, why not starting now'. He is a nice guy, besides, I'm good friends with his older brother Chris'.
Me and Chris, better known as Tip, was good friends and got along well, so incase Mason messed up, i knew his brother would sort him out.

*About Mason*

Mason was a tall guy, very tall, I used to refer to him as a giraffe, standing next to him, I was literally half his height. He was well mannered, little outspoken, but not much, got average grades, unlike Jonah, the straight A student. He really seemed genuinely interested in me, so I decided to give him a chance.

Later that evening, after finishing dinner and doing the dishes, I decided to text him, confirming our date. 'Mom I'm off to my room, got a few things to do, shout if you need anything'
'Ok sweety' she replied instantly.

'Before I continue, a little family history'
It was only me and my mother, Miranda. I had an older sister, but she lived elsewhere since she was attending college. My mom and dad separated when I was little, he had another wife, but never had any kids with her. I didn't really see much of him, only over the holiday seasons, sometimes.

Back to the date confirmation:
I entered my room, closed the door and reached for my phone.

JAZ: 'Hey Mason , what you up too'
A few minutes later a reply came

MASON: 'Hey Jaz, not much, playing games, I'm glad you texted me, you thought about what I asked you?'

JAZ: 'Yeah, ok, I will go out with you, just let me know when'

MASON: 'Oh wow, great, how about we catch a movie on Friday after school??'

JAZ: 'Ok, sounds like a date' Have to go, we'll talk at school, goodnight'

MASON: 'Ok, goodnight Jaz, and thanks again'

End of conversation

'Ok Jasmine, you did it, you got a date' I told myself. Operation 'for getting Jonah' has started.

I went to bed that night, thinking everything will be better.
