Chapter 5 – Is This the End For Aria?
I slowly began to open my eyes. A bright light hit my eyes. I shielded my eyes and then sat up. I looked around to see where I was. I was sitting on a cloud in the sky. I stood up carefully, wandering what was going on. “Mum? Sophia? Anybody?” I called out. There was no reply. “Aria?” I heard a voice behind me. I turned around slowly… I find myself looking at my dad. “Dad!” I called out happily. I ran over to him and hugged him as tight as I could. “I love you Aria.” He told me whilst kissing me on my forehead. “I love you more. I missed you so much.” I told him, shedding tears of joy. “Come, I have something to show you.” He said, holding my hand and walking across the clouds. I let go of his hand, and put my arm around his waist. He glanced down at me. I glanced at him and smiled, and then he smiled back. He put his arm on my shoulder and we walked ahead.
“Are we there yet?” I asked my dad. He covered my eyes with his hand. “You ready?” he said as we came to a stop. “Of course I’m ready. I always will be when I’m with you.” I replied. He took away his hand and I glanced ahead. “Oh my… this… this is beautiful!” I exclaimed happily. It was a small cottage covered in roses, and a garden that has a beautiful oak tree in the middle. Butterflies were flying around, and a rainbow appeared all of a sudden, making the house seem absolutely magical. A monarch butterfly landed on my finger as I held it out. “This is such an amazing dream.” I said to my dad. This was truly amazing. “This isn’t a dream sweetheart…”
“Ahh… wait – what?” I glanced at dad nervously. “Your in heaven sweetheart… you passed away.” He explained slowly. I began to pant. “No… no… it’s not true… no…” I began to sob. “I’m sorry sweetheart, it’s true.” Dad sympathetically told me. He hugged me tight, and I hugged him back,
“Aria… please wake up… I’m not losing you…” Mum said to Aria. Aria was in the hospital, hooked up to several machines, and she was as pale as the glowing figure. “She’s not breathing or moving Sophia… I can’t lose her!” Mum began to panic. Sophia hugged my mum. “Sorry to say, but I think it’s time to let her go.” Sophia whispered to Aria’s mum. Mum burst into tears at the sound of ‘let her go’. The nurse suddenly walked into the room. “I’m very sorry Miss. Holloway, but it’s time to go. A coroner is coming to take her and we politely ask you and your friend to leave.” The nurse explained. Sophia and Aria’s mum walked out of the hospital.
