You Don't Understand Me

Chapter 8: Liar

I woke up to my alarm and got up. I went to the bathroom and took a short shower. I washed my face, dried my hair, brushed my teeth, and got dressed. I looked at the time and it was 6:45am. Since I had time, I decided to do two dutch braids to my hair. When I was done, I got my bag, phone, earbuds, and car keys and went downstairs. The time was already 7:10am so I didn't have time to eat breakfast. As I was walking out the door, I saw Namjoon's phone on the table. I grabbed it.
Thoughts: Should I turn it on? Maybe I can get on of the guys to return it to him.
I turned I one and opened his messages. I clicked on a group chat and started typing.
IN TEXT.
Y/n: Guys, I need you're help.
A few seconds later, I got a response.
Yoongi: What is it?
Hoseok: Did something happen with Y/n?
Y/n: This is Y/n.
Yoongi: Wait, if you're Y/n, then where's Namjoon?
Y/n: He left his phone at my house last night. Can one of you give it to him?
Jin: I think its better you do it.
Yoongi: Same here.
Y/n: I think he's just going to ignore me though.
Hoseok: I promise you he won't.
Y/n: Why's that?
Jin: Just trust us. He won't.
Y/n: Okay, thanks guys.
Hoseok: Of course.
I switched off the phone and got in my car and drove to school.
TIME SKIP
I got to school and went inside. I opened my locker and started putting and taking stuff out.
???: Y/n!
I heard my name and turned around.
Y/n: Oh, hey Jungkook.
Kook: Are you still helping me after school today?
Y/n: Oh yeah, of course. I almost forgot.
Moe: Y/n!
Monique suddenly came up to me.
Moe: I need to talk to you.
She seemed really excited about something.
Y/n: Um, I'm kinda talking to Jungkook.
Kook: Its okay. I have to meet the guys anyways.
Y/n: Okay, see you after school Kook.
Kook: Kook?
Y/n: Yeah, that's my new nickname for you. If you're okay with it.
Kook: I like it. Anyways, I'll see you after school.
Y/n: Bye!
I yelled as Monique dragged me to somewhere more private. We got to the rooftop and she made me sit next to her.
Y/n: Okay, what was it you wanted to talk to me about?
Moe: So after I left your house last night, Jae called me.
Y/n: Why?
Moe: He said he needed to tell me something.
Y/n: Okay.
Moe: So I met him at the park and he sat us down on a bench and he....
Y/n: He what?
Moe: He asked me out!
I momentarily froze.

He what?

Y/n: What?! Seriously?
Moe: Yes!!
I was really happy for her. I hugged her.
Y/n: Oh my god! Congratulations!
Moe: Thanks.
We broke the hug when the bell suddenly rang. We got up and started going to class.
Moe: So, about last night...what happened?
Y/n: What do you mean?
Moe: You know, you basically kicking me out.
Y/n: Oh, that. I'll tell you later.
Moe: Okay, and are you okay? You seem a bit pale.
Y/n: I'm fine.
Moe: Are you sure?
Y/n: Yeah, let's get to class before we're late.
Moe: Okay.
We got to class and the teacher came in and started class.
TIME SKIP
Its P.E. Monique and I are in the locker room changing. I finished and I put my hair in a ponytail.
This is what you're wearing.

Moe: You ready?
Y/n: Yeah, let's go.
As we were walking into the gym, Monique turned to me.
Moe: Are yous ure you're okay? I saw you leaning in the wall as we were walking out.
Y/n: I promise I'm fine.
Moe: Don't lie to me.
Y/n: I'm not!
She was about to say something, but the teacher interrupted her.
T: Okay, everyone start off by running 3 laps!
We then started running. After the first lap, I started to feel really dizzy and I started slowing down. Tiara and Maria passed us and they were laughing.
Moe: Y/n?
Y/n: I'm fine-
I then fell on the floor and everything went black.
MONIQUE'S POV.
Moe: Oh my- Y/N!!
I ran over to her and kneeled next to her. I started trying to wake her up.
Moe: Y/n!? Y/n wake up!
The teacher came over along with the others.
T: What happened?
Moe: She just fainted.
Tiara: She's just faking and looking for attention.
I turned to her and glared at her.
Moe: She's not faking and is certainly not looking for attention. I think you're getting yourself mixed up with her.
Tiara: You little-
T: Girls! Enough! Can someone take her to the nurses office?
???: I will.
I turned and saw Yugyeom coming towards us.
T: Okay, everyone else go back to running.
YG: Yes sir.
Yugyeom picked her up and started walking away as I went back to running.
YUGYEOM POV.
I was carrying Y/n bridal style and went into the nurses offices.
Joon: Hello?
No response. I laid Y/n down on one of the beds and waiting for the nurse to get back as she wasn't here. I looked at Y/n.
Do you like me too? Or is this one-sided?
I thought to myself. I moved a few strands of hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. I sighed and leaned back in the chair.
TIME SKIP. YOUR POV.
I woke up and looked around. I was in the nurses office. I saw Namjoon sitting next to me.
Y/n: Where's Moe?
Namjoon turned to me.
YG: Oh, you're awake. You fainted in P.E. so I brought you here.
I sat up slowly.
Y/n: I did?
Joon: Yeah.
Y/n: Well, thanks.
YG: No problem.
Just then, the nurse aalked in.
N: Oh, what happened?
YG: She fainted during P.E.
N: Let me check on you.
She sat in her chair and did a check up to be safe.
N: You seem to be fine. Have you eaten this morning?
Y/n: No I didn't get the chance.
N: You shouldn't skip meals. Take this and make sure you eat something.
Y/n: I will, thank you.
She gave me a note to give my teacher. Namjoon and I walked out and I went to my locker.
Joon: Are you okay?
Y/n: Yeah, I just need to eat something.
YG: Why did you skip breakfast?
Y/n: I was running late so I didn't have time.
YG: Well, its about to be lunch so you'll get to eat at least.
Y/n: Yeah.
I was still kinda pissed about what happened yesterday with Namjoon. I remembered his phone wa in my bag. I got it out and shut my locker. The bell rang and everyone started heading for lunch. I saw Namjoon walking out of a classroom and I went up to him.
Y/n: Namjoon!
He stopped but didn't turn around.
Joon: What?
Y/n: You left your phone at my house. Here.
I handed him his phone. He turned briefly to me and took it, walking away without saying anything more.
I sighed.
Y/n: He's ignoring me.
Yugyeom came to me.
YG: You ready to go to lunch?
I just nodded and we went to lunch. I got my lunch and we went to our table where Monique and Jae were already at.
Jae: Hey guys.
YG: Hey.
Y/n: Sup love birds.
YG: What?
I looked at Yugyoem as we sat down.
Y/n: They didn't tell you?
YG: Tell me what?
I looked at Monique.
Moe: Right, well....
Jae: We are kinda...
Y/n: Jeez, they're dating. See it wasn't that hard.
YG: What?! You are?!
They nodded.
YG: Congratulations guys.
Y/n: I called it didn't I?
Moe: You did?
YG: She did.
We all laughed and we at our lunch, then to our other classes.
TIME SKIP, AFTER SCHOOL.
I was ar my locker when someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and it was Jin.
Y/n: Hey Jin.
Jin: Did you give Namjoon his phone back?
Y/n: I did, but he's ignoring me.
Hoseok: He is?
Hoseok came out of nowhere and scared the living crap out of me.
Y/n: Jesus Hoseok! You can't just sneak up on people like that!
Hoseok: Sorry.
He chuckled.
Hoseok: But I'm surprised he is.
Y/n: Why?
Jin: No reason!
Y/n: Um, okay? Anyways, I have to meet up with Jungkook to help him on his project. I'll see you guys later.
Jin&Hoseok: Bye Y/n!
I waved and walked outside to my car. I got in and drobe to the cafe.
TIME SKIP.
I got to the cafe and went inside. I ordered us a drink and sat down at a table.
W: Here is your drink ma'am.
She placed the drink on the table.
Y/n: Thank you.
She nodded and walked away. The door opened and I looked over and I saw Jungkook.
Y/n: Kook!
He looked over at me and walked to the table.
Kook: Hey.
He said as he sat down.
Y/n: I got you a iced americano, I hope that's okay.
Kook: That's great, thanks.
Y/n: Okay, so what did you need help on?
He showed me what he needed help on and I started to help him.
TIME SKIP.
We had been working on his project for a little over an hour and half. We talked and joked around while doing it. He's actually really sweet.
Y/n: Is this all you needed help on?
Kook: Yeah, thanks Y/n.
Y/n: No problem.
I checked the time.
Y/n: Its already 6:30?!
I got up and started grabbing my stuff.
Y/n: I gotta go. I'll see you later Kook!
Kook: Bye Y/n!
I heard him chuckling. I got to my car and jumped in and drive home. I got home and went inside. As soon as I shut the door, I heard my father yell my name.
Dad: Y/n!!!
I gulped and went to the living room.
Y/n: Y-Yes?
Dad: Did you steal money from us?
I instantly got confused.
Y/n: What?
Dad: Answer me.
He said in a serious tone.
Y/n: No, of course not.
Dad: Liar.
Y/n: I'm not ly-
I didn't get the chance to finish my sentence. I had gotten a hard hand to my right cheek and fell to the floor due to his strength. My hand held my cheek as tears formed in my eyes. I was paralyzed. Not long after, I felt him grab a hand full on my hair pulling me up from the floor.
Dad: If you ever steal again, you're out of this house.
I smelt the alcohol on his breath. He had been drinking again. He then threw me to the floor with another slap to the face. I just laid there, frozen. My mother came to me.
Mom: Y/n-
I didn't give her time to say anything. I got up and grabbed my bag, running out the door. I don't care where I end up, I just want to be away from that house right now.
TIME SKIP.
I had been walking for at least 15 minutes now. I was lost in my thoughts.
Thoughts: Stupid. How could you think he changed.
I was walking, not paying attention to where I was going. I suddenly heard the sound of a horn, snapping me out of my thoughts. Just as I was about to look up, I got pulled to the other side of the road. I stood there, my head against the person's chest, frozen. We stayed there for a minute before they started talking.
Are you okay?
He said to me. This voice sounded very familiar. I slowly looked up only to see Namjoon, holding me in his arms.
Y/n: Y-Yeah. Thanks.
Joon: Why weren't you looking where you were going? You could have died!
I didn't say anything, just looked at him. He kept talking but I couldn't hear him, I started thinking about what happened at my house with my father. My eye got teary again and I buried my face in his chest.
Joon: Hey, are you alright?
As he said those words, I let it all out. I started crying, unable to stop.
Joon: Hey, calm down. Its okay.
He held me tighter and strokes my head as he rested his head on top of mine. I couldn't stop crying. Everytime the tears would dry, more would come. Eventually, I had calmed down. I let got of Namjoon and wiped my face. He put his hands on my face, wiping the rest of the tears with my thumbs.
Joon: What happened?
He asked with concern and sorry in his voice.
Joon: Let me take you home-
Y/n: No. I don't want to go home.
Joon: Why?
Y/n: I just...I just don't want to.
Joon: Well, is there any place I can take you?
I thought of Monique, but she's with her family right now. Jae and Yugyeom are hanging out so they're not home. I shook my head.
Joon: Do you want to come to my house then?
Y/n: If its okay.
Joon: Sure. Come on, my car is over here.
We wenr to his car and got in. He started the car and drove to his house. The whole car ride was silent. Neither of us had said anything. We reached his house and we got out and went inside.
Y/n: Are your parents okay with me coming over?
Joon: I live alone.
Y/n: Oh, okay.
Joon: Are you hungry?
Y/n: No, I'm okay.
Joon: Sit down, I'll get something to drink.
I nodded and sat down. Soon after, Namjoon can back with two mugs.
Joon: Its hot chocolate, it always makes me feel better.
I let out a small laugh as I took one of the mugs.
Y/n: Thanks.
He sat down next to me as I took a sip of my hot chocolate.
Joon: So, you wanna tell me why you were crying and have two red cheeks?
I looked at him.
