*David's POV*
The rest of the week went by in a similar manner. I slept at Liza's house every night so that I could look after her. I got up in the morning, went to class, tried my best to focus on my lesson plans, got lost in my daydreams about Liza during the 30 minute free time at the end of period, dodged Stacy, and went back to Liza. That's it that's all. It seemed rather pointless when I knew that I wasn't going to see her in my class. I couldn't wait for her to come back.
The week finally ended as I walked through Liza's front door on Friday and that led to an enjoyable weekend of quality time spent together. I'd be lying if I said that we weren't both mildly dreading the thought of going back for another 5 days, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
I groaned as the alarm blared on Monday morning. I rolled over, shut it off, and wrapped my arm around Liza's waist, pulling her sleeping body into me so that her back was against my chest. I peppered little kisses down her neck, her shoulder, and her face until she finally stirred. Her eyes fluttered open as she let out a big stretch. She then rolled over and looked at me, her eyes filled with what I would think is a mixture of sadness and nervousness at the thought of returning to class.
"Good morning Princess" I say softly, pressing a gentle kiss on her lips. She let a small smile briefly grace her face before returning to her resting look of apprehension.
"Morning Bubba" I hear her mumble.
"As much as I would love to let you sleep, its sadly time to get up" I say as i flash her another soft smile and press another couple of kisses on her lips. She groans loudly and flips herself so that shes back on her stomach, allowing her to bury her nearly healed face deep into the pillows. I chuckle a bit at her childlike nature and pull myself out of bed. I walk over to the dresser and open my drawer. Since Liza and I have known each other for so long and her family loves me, I have my own drawer and closet space in her room for anything that I may need. It's quite nice, but today it wasn't as useful given that I've been so busy working and taking care of Liza that I forgot to do my laundry. I let out a light sigh as I study the empty drawer.
"Hey babe? I forgot to do the laundry and I'm out of clean clothes here. I'm going to head back to my house and just get ready there, if that's ok" I state as I make my way over to her side of the bed.
"Sounds good. I'll throw some laundry in after school. Go get ready and I'll see you later in class" she responds, now actually sitting up and looking at least half awake. I nod and bend down to kiss her again, I can't get enough of this girl. I wish her luck and head out to get ready next door.
*Liza's POV*
As David left to go get ready at his house, I couldn't help but let out a sigh. My little break was over (although it would've been nice for it to be under better circumstances) and it was time to face reality again. What's even worse is that it's time to face Stacy again. I still haven't told David that she was the one that hit me but I'm sure he already knows. I just don't want to confirm it quite yet because I don't want him saying anything to her. I know that he will keep his thoughts to himself if he doesn't have 100% solid proof to back up any of his arguments, so I'm using that to my advantage right now.
Once I finally pull myself away from my extremely comfortable bed, I look through my closet for potential outfits. Part of me wants to go for a comfy/laid back look, but the other part of me wants to come back bigger, better and stronger.
I continue to dig until I come across a cute maroon colored shirt and some skin tight jeans. I chuckle to myself knowing that the shirt was definitely appropriate for college, but the full front buttons allowed me to have a little fun so I think it'll catch David's attention, especially since I don't think he's ever seen it before. I grab a black belt to complete the outfit and I head for the bathroom.
I do my makeup, get dressed, and let my crazy curly hair do whatever it does best. I made sure to pay close attention to the bit of bruising that still lingered on my face, doing my best to cover it up and make myself look as untouched as possible. Once I was satisfied with I saw in the mirror, I grabbed my bag and loaded up all the homework that David so kindly picked up for me while I was out of school (it was nice not to fall behind in my classes because of this). Once I was all set on that front I grabbed a banana for the road and I shut the door behind me. Here we go. Again.
Once I arrived at the college I, as expected, received a lot of looks as people talked quietly when I walked by. I'm not too surprised as word travels fast whenever there's a fight, just like in high school. I made it through my first two classes and was now on my way to my math class. I was feeling a bit uneasy about seeing Stacy but I was excited to see David, so I just tried to focus on that.
As I walked into the classroom I felt Stacy's eyes glue themselves to me almost immediately. Just for the sake of avoiding any conflict with her from the start, I disregarded her stare and walked right past David and sat down at my desk without saying a word. He looked up from his papers once he realised that someone had walked past him. He quickly scanned the room before his eyes landed on me and a smile quickly formed on his face, and this time he didn't even bother to hide it.
"Welcome back Liza, it's nice to see you" he said in a kind yet professional manner. I could tell that his breath caught a little bit as he quickly eyed me up and down, taking in my carefully selected outfit.
"Nice to see you too Mr. Dobrik, it's good to be back." I reply genuinely, returning the smile as well. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Stacy studying our exchange carefully with a sour look on her face. I smirked to myself knowing that David was clearly the one starting our conversation and that I wasn't "coming onto him" like Stacy likes to think I do. I'm hoping that if she sees me back down but also sees that David continues to focus on me, then maybe she will get the hint and leave me alone (wishful thinking, I know).
I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard the door open followed by someone talking to David. I look up to see a tall guy, with light skin and dark blonde hair, standing next to the desk. I watched as he handed David a piece of paper which David then studied for a minute before clearling his throat, getting everyones attention to make an announcement.
"Class, it looks like we have a new student!"
