*Liza's POV*

I observed the stranger briefly before David spoke again.

"Everyone, please welcome Alex Ernst, he will be joining our class for the rest of the semester. Alex, please find a seat and we will begin shortly" David announced kindly, motioning for Alex to find an open spot.

I looked past Alex and focused on David, who was standing a step back behind him. Alex was now facing the class and scanning the room looking for a place to sit. My eyes briefly locked with David's as he gave me a soft smile. I gladly returned the smile, not noticing much else around me. The only reason I noticed that Alex had moved was because he was no longer blocking my view of David, and I was not complaining at all. As much as I wish that I could've stayed in that moment with David forever, I knew that I couldn't hold it for long before it started to look suspicious. I reluctantly broke our brief exchange and shifted my attention to the once empty desk next to mine, only to find Alex settling in before he turning towards me.

"Hi, I'm Alex" he said as a big smile spread across his face.

"Hi, I'm Liza" I replied, letting a small smile pass quickly before turning my attention back to my own desk, grabbing my phone to kill some time before class starts.

"Nice to meet you Liza" Alex adds. Was he trying to start a conversation? Oh boy..maybe if I keep my answers short and sweet then he won't be interested in talking to me.

"Nice to meet you too" I replied, looking over at Alex quickly as I spoke, but then instantly bringing my attention right back to my phone, hoping that he would take the hint. I didn't want to be rude but I was also not interested in any small talk as my mind was very preoccupied with plotting ways to drive David crazy.

"I don't mean to be super forward but you have a beautiful smile" he whispered, clearly letting my hints go right over his head.

"Um, thanks" I replied timidly, going back to looking at my phone once again in the exact same manner as I had done before. As I am looking at my phone I get a feeling like I'm being watched. I lift my head to look around and sure enough I was met with David's eyes shooting me a questioning glare as Alex tired to lean towards me, staring at me as well.

I quickly began to feel overwhelmed as I felt both of them stare at me. I felt very confused, anxious and overall uncomfortable with the attention that was sure to send me into an anxiety attack soon enough.

I looked up at David with pleading eyes and quickly raised my hand.

"Is Ms. Tiffany in today" I asked, causing David to give me a confused look that quickly softened when he realized what I meant.

You see, we have a code name that we use when either of us are feeling anxious, uneasy, or like we might have an anxiety/panic attack, and that code name is "Tiffany". By asking that question I was able to let David know that I was feeling anxious. We also have another safe word which is "pookie" but that's more so for situations where we feel unsafe or scared. This wasn't a pookie moment, this was definitely a Tiffany moment.

"See me after class so I can check and let you know" David replied, playing my question off as if I was actually looking for someone by that name. That's the beauty of code words, not a single person in this class had a clue nor were they even interested in our conversation.

On that note David cleared his throat and announced the start of class. Alex repositioned himself in his seat and turned his attention to David. Finally! I could see a brief smile flash across David's face as I knew he was satisfied with his simple attempt at getting Alex to leave me alone, but he still kept an eye on me throughout the rest of the class period.

As usual, the last 30 minutes of class were free time. This time is usually great because I get a head start on my work, but today I was dreading it, fearing that a certain someone might try to talk to me again.

Sure enough, right at that moment I saw Alex turning towards me out of the corner of my eye. Called it..

"So do we always get free time at the end of class?" Alex asked. Part of me was annoyed but the other part knew that this was a fair question.

"Yes, usually the last 30 minutes of every class are our time to do homework, ask questions, or just talk" I explained, quickly regretting what I had said about this being a good time to talk. Another smile forms on Alex's face.

"Oh good, so I won't get in trouble for talking to you then" he chuckles

"Oh no, you still might" I reply with a small chuckle of my own, half joking yet half completely serious. Sure, he can talk to me, but David will not allow much of it since he knows that I am feeling uneasy.

"I see, then maybe we could grab lunch or something where we could talk more freely" he suggested.

Dangit. Why does everything I say keep backfiring on me today. Why was he so interested in talking to me when he hasn't even acknowledged a single other student. I thought about it for a second and then realized that when he first got to the class he was standing in front of David, so when I smiled at David, Alex probably thought I was smiling at him. Ugh! That's probably it! Before I could even think of a response he spoke up again.

"You're outfit is very pretty by the way" he adds in a tone that sounded like he was trying to flirt with me. Of course it didn't help that on my outfit was more risky than I would usually wear since I was trying to mess with David. Great. First a compliment on my smile, then an invite to lunch, and now a compliment on my outfit. He's clearly not getting the hint that I'm not interested.

"Thanks but no thanks. I have a boyfriend and I'm not interested, sorry" I replied, trying to be stern yet not completely rude. As I said that Alex's face changed to an emotion that I couldn't quite pinpoint, and David's eyes locked on me for what felt like the millionth time today. Luckily, before anything else could be said, the clock ticked over to our end time and David dismissed the class.

As everyone was packing up I quickly gathered my things and walked over to David's desk.

"Any update on Ms. Tiffany?" I ask, reminding him of our loophole from earlier. I made sure that I said it just loud enough for anyone who may be listening to know my reason for staying after class.

"Ah, yes, have a seat for a second while I look that up for you" David said, pointing to the chair directly in front of his desk as he turned his attention to his laptop and pretended to look up the information I had asked for.

Soon the classroom door shuts as the last person finally exits. David gets up, walks over to the door and quickly flips the lock before coming back and pulling me out of my seat and into a hug. I wrapped my arms around his waist, buried my face into his chest and melted into his embrace, letting out a sigh of relief knowing that we were finally alone. No Stacy, no Alex, just me and David. I was grateful that the blinds were closed and that there were no windows in or around the door. There was no way for anyone to look in and see us.

David must've come to the same realization as I felt him pull away slightly, causing my head to lose contact with his warm chest. I was briefly saddened by the loss of contact but soon felt him place his hand under my chin, causing my head to tilt up until our eye locked yet again.

Before I could say anything David leaned down and smashed his lips against mine. He was a little more forceful this time, needy almost, but I wasn't complaining, I needed him too.

We stayed there for what felt like forever, sharing a kiss that was full of desire, passion, and maybe even a little bit of jealousy. It was moments like this where nothing else mattered, but every moment must eventually come to an end. Much to both of our disappointment, we pulled away and David backed up until he was able to sit down on his desk. He pulled me back with him and pressed his forehead against mine.

"You're going to be in a lot of trouble if you keep wearing outfits like that" he said with a seductive smirk, pulling me closer to him in the process. I smirked back and added a quick wink, loving the fact that my little plan was working. He reconnected our lips for one more passionate kiss before pulling away again, leaving us both wanting more while staring into each other's eyes.

"You're only mine and I'm only yours - it's you and me against the world"
