Khushi's POV

I continue, my voice trembling with emotion. "It took us a year just to forget our parents. Don't get me wrong, but if your real parents, who abandoned you for half of your life, suddenly show up at your doorstep claiming to be your parents but refuse to tell you why they left you—what would you do? It took us a year to forget them, but even then, we still saw them around."

I pause, gathering my thoughts. "I applied to work with the Oberois, and because of my qualifications and skills, I got the job. After a few months, I was promoted, and I used half of the money to help Jiji start her own business. Did you know that after working with Bhai and Papa, I became friends with Sam? I started to see things differently, and that's why we forgave our parents on Aru and Vivu's birthday."

My voice cracks as I continue, "A few months ago, I found out that Bhai had asked some people to gather information about me and Jiji. That information included everything about our lives, from the day we were born. When Bhai found out about our marriage and how we were treated, he started treating us like fragile glass dolls. And not only that, he told the whole family about it. He never bothered to ask for our opinion—never! He just told the story from someone else's perspective."

Tears stream down my face as I choke out, "I HATE IT."

I can't hold back anymore. I start crying uncontrollably, letting all the pain I've been holding inside pour out. Karan holds me tightly, offering silent comfort as I release all the anguish I've kept hidden for so long.

Karan's POV

I can feel the depth of Khushi's pain, and my heart aches for her. She doesn't need pity—she needs a friend, someone she can confide in without fear of judgment. I want to be that friend for her. I might be hurt that Payal loves someone else, even though I love her, but I know that it takes time to forget someone, and I'm willing to wait forever if I have to.

After a few minutes, I realise that Khushi's sobbing has stopped. I look down and see that she has fallen asleep, her face peaceful for the first time in a long while. I gently lift her, intending to carry her to her bedroom. But as I turn toward the door, I'm shocked to see someone standing there.

By the look on his face, I could tell he had heard everything. The heartbreak in his eyes mirrored my own. I silently assured him with a glance that we would talk about this later. Carefully, I carried Khushi to her room, tucking her in gently. As I returned downstairs, I found Sam still in the same spot, his expression filled with shock and tears streaming down his face. I placed a supportive hand on his shoulder, and he immediately broke down, crying uncontrollably.

Sam (crying): "Why does this happen to us? First, it was Krystal... and now her... why?"

Me (upset): "Sam, I've moved on from Krystal, and you will too. We'll both find our perfect life partners eventually. We need to stay strong, Sam. It doesn't matter if those girls don't love us. At least they're our friends. Maybe, just maybe, one day they might like us... let's go home. We both have an important meeting tomorrow."
