Taylor's POV
I woke up, and realized I wasn't in Ed's arms. I sat up quickly, and looked around. He's not in the room anywhere, so I stood and walked out to the kitchen and living room. I found him trying to cook eggs on the small stove, and it seemed as if he was doing a pretty good job of it.
"Good morning, love." He greeted.
"Good morning!" I greeted happily, and ran over and threw my arms around him from behind in a hug.
"I'm making breakfast, and I haven't burned the whole bus down!" He said excitedly, and I giggled.
"I noticed." I said, placed a kiss on his cheek, and then stood and waisted for him to finish.
"Here you are, Miss Swift." He said, leading me over to the table and placing the plate down carefully in front of me before taking the seat on the other side with his own plate. I held his hand as we ate.
"Ed, again, thank you so much for coming, thank you so so so much. I love you." I told him, looking directly into his eyes.
"I love you too, and of course I came, I wanted you to have a special birthday, after the one who didn't show." He said, quoting the Moment I Knew. I smiled, that song is about Jake promising he would show up for my birthday, me waiting on him all day, and he never ended up showing. It ruined my day, and later he called and simply apologized for not being able to make it, and I was just kinda like that sucks for you now. But now I've got Ed, and he's absolutely amazing.
"Thank you so much, just....that's amazing that you even thought about that and that's just...woah. I love you." I told him again, and he smiled.
"You know, I got you something, a birthday present, I couldn't come without one." He said nervously.
"Wait, you mean just you being here for my birthday isn't the gift?" I asked.
"I didn't know my presence was that wonderful." He said, and we both laughed.
"Well, it most certainly is." I told him, and he blushed a little.
"So...this is your gift, and if you don't like it, I completely understand..." He said nervously, taking a long, rectangular box out of his pocket and sliding it across the table. He stared into his lap, nervously playing with his hands.
I opened the box and gasped. Inside it was a simple, yet beautiful necklace. The chain was silver, and the pendant was a little thirteen inside of a heart. "Ed...this is beautiful!" I said, and immediately put it on.
"You really think so?" He asked, looking up a little. I ran around to his side of the table and took a seat next to him.
"I know so." I said, giving him a kiss. "It's absolutely gorgeous, I love it." I gave him a huge hug.
"Almost as beautiful as you love." He said when we pulled away, and I blushed.
"You're the best, Ed." I told him, and I leaned my head on his shoulder, holding his hand in my own.
We sat in silence for a little while, just glad to be in each other's company.
"So, what would you like to do today?" He asked.
"Umm...I don't know. Spend time with you, that's for sure." I told him, placing a kiss on his cheek. "We could catch up with the band and dancers if you like, you're all they talk about anymore."
"Oh?"
"Yeah. They miss your stories and your jokes, you made touring so much fun!" I told him. "Everyone genuinely missed you."
"Well then, maybe we could go and pay them a visit." He said happily, and I smiled.
"We should all go out to eat somewhere, for lunch or something." I suggested. "But we should keep you as a surprise, just like you were with me last night."
"Sounds like a wonderful idea, love." He said, placing a kiss on my hair.
"Great! I'll call everyone up then, and work something out."
A half hour later, I was meeting up with everyone and hopping into cars. Ed was taking his own separate car, he would show up to the restaurant a little later as a surprise.
We got there and were seated. I made sure that there was an empty chair right next to me, that's where Ed would sit, but no one knew that yet.
We chatted for awhile, before Caitlin turned to me. "So, who's the empty chair for?" She asked.
"A friend." I told her with a mischievous grin.
"Oh?" She asked, and I nodded.
"You'll see." I told her, and she sighed playfully. I pulled out my phone and sent a quick text to Ed, letting him know he could walk over whenever he wanted, now that people and taken notice that someone was supposed to be here, but wasn't. I saw his red hair a he turned a corner, and made his way over to our table.
"That friend." I said a little loudly, and pointed towards Ed. Everyone clapped and cheered, and Ed was met with loads of people all trying to talk to him and hug him.
When everyone calmed down and returned to their seats, Ed sat down next to me. I leaned over and gave him a quick hug. "So, Taylor tells me I was missed?" Ed asked Caitlin.
"Oh yeah, no one knows what to do with themselves now you're not here to tell us stories and have karaoke contests with." She said, and he laughed.
"Well, I always lost those anyways." He joked, and I laughed.
"Oh, like you're not Ed Sheeran." Grant chimed, and he blushed.
"Against Taylor Swift." He noted, and it was my turn to blush.
"You do have a point." Grant agreed, and my cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red.
We spent the rest of the afternoon chatting and telling stories, everyone catching up with Ed and whatnot.
"Taylor, where'd you get your necklace? It's so you!" Claire, one of the dancers, asked. Again, my cheeks turned a shade of red, and I shrugged.
"A friend gave it to me." I said, since Ed and I had decided we wanted to keep our relationship secret. It might seem suspicious if I said that Ed gave me a necklace (with a heart on it no less) and he showed up to celebrate my birthday.
"Well, tell them I think it's cute!" She said with a smile. I nodded.
"I'll be sure to do that!" I promised.
Soon, we all packed up and went back to the buses. We all spent the rest of the day hanging out and chatting, and I was so glad Ed could be there.
