We went around the block to Isaiah's house, across piles of foliage and around some abandoned furniture left for dead for the unforgiving garbage truck, or to be in the hands of someone who desperately wants or needs them.

Eventually, we came to Isaiah's house, and I motioned for Jah to hide behind the silver Mercedes parked in the driveway. I approached the faded white door with caution, walking up the worn wooden steps up to the straw welcome mat.

Hesitantly, I rang the doorbell, this time hearing the pleasant chimes of a new arrival. My black eyes darted up and down the door, anxiously waiting for someone to break the thickened silence and open it.

After about 10 seconds, whom I assumed to be Isaiah's grandfather opened the front door. "Hey. May I help you?" An old, well kept man in his 70's or 80's curiously asked me in a heavy New York accent. He had short grey hair, leathery chestnut skin, and was tall and ominously towered over me like a brown bear.

I stuttered, a little startled. "Uh, hey. I'm looking for Isaiah?"

He looked down at me once again, this time his gaze looked a little less menacing. "Isaiah!" He called out in his raspy, elderly voice. "Get your ass to the door! You have a visitor!" With that, he tiredly walked away across the creaky hardwood floorboards and disappeared into the big house.

After a minute or so, Isaiah came to the door. He was shirtless, in nothing but basketball shorts and Adidas slides. The only other thing that seemed to be covering his body was glimmering sweat, perhaps he had been working out or something. "Well damn, this was a nice surprise. You look good today, come in." He half-smirked and led me into the house.

I looked around as we crossed the border from the creaky wood to the shaggy taupe carpet into the main hallway. His house smelled of febreze and old books, and pictures of his relatives and family portraits decorated the bland, granola wall. The ceilings hung low, and the paint looked a bit old and brittle.

After a while of examining his house, he led me in his room. Surprisingly, his room was pretty clean and big. His walls and ceiling were painted a Cobalt blue, and golden sports trophies shone from his well kept, pine shelves. His bed was big, covered with thick cotton sheets and basketball and football pillows. Plus, he had a big, colorful fish tank in the corner of his room with species' ranging from Angel Fish to Blue Tangs.

"So, what's good? Why you here?" He plopped himself onto his bed, his ashy fingers digging into his cotton bed sheets.

I looked at my shoes. "Are you cheating on me?" I asked bluntly.

He silently stood up, then walked over to me. Be placed those same fingers on my cheek, but I quickly pulled away. "Answer the question, Isaiah." I glared.

He sighed. "Why would I cheat on you baby? You're the prettiest and most amazing girl I know."

"Answer the question. Have you been messing around, making me look like a gaddamn fool for trusting you?"

"Why are you asking me this, Bianca? Did that bitch Ja-"

"He did."

"I'll fuck him up. He's a fucking liar. I kissed her only because she kept coming on to me and-"

"So you did kiss her?" The already apparent tears in my eyes were beginning to flood out.

He stepped closer to me again. "I didn't mean to hurt you again. It wasn't intentional. I just wanted to shut her up. Wasn't like we fucked or nun."

"Bye Isaiah." I grabbed my bag and started to head out of that house.

"Bianca no! Let's talk about this." He ran after me.

"I said bye. Adios, Chao, Zài jiàn! We are done, have a nice life." I sped up.

He tried to grab my arm just as I was about to head out his door. "Please baby, let's work this out."

Before I had time to come up with a response, Jahseh intervened. "Leave her the fuck alone, or this time I will actually fuck you up and there will be nobody there to stop it."

"Fuck you, Jahseh. I'm not leaving her." He said, trying to size him up.

"Leave her the hell alone." He said, pissed.

Enraged, Isaiah grabbed me, pulling me to him, but before he could complete that, Jahseh started physically attacking him.

"Stop!" I screamed.

Isaiah's grandfather came into the kitchen. Noticing Isaiah struggling to fight back, he tried to break up the fight. "Get off my grandson, you little shit!" He started to dial a number now, probably the cops.

"Jahseh stop! It's not worth it!"

After about a minute of me and his grandfather trying to break them apart, the sound of police sirens rang out in the distance, getting closer and closer.

"Seriously!"

One cop barged in, immediately handcuffing Jahseh, despite him trying to resist. "We have a code 242." A middle aged police officer with a blonde ponytail spoke into her walkie-talkie.

As the officers dragged Jahsehs body into one o fthe cars, it was also almost impossible not to hear the soft chuckle coming from the formerly beautiful boy Isaiah, who was now covered with the warm, crimson liquid.

-police station-

"Jahseh why?" I spoke softly through the cell bars.

"Who knows what the hell that creep would've done to you if I wasn't there." He nervously twirled one of his course dreads.

I sighed. "Thank you Jah but you have to remember that your actions have consequences. See?" I held up my witness form in the air and shook it.

We both nodded.

The bell chimed, signaling a new visitor in the small, but dense police station. I looked the person who walked through the door up and down.

"I'm here for Jahseh." A pretty, feminine voice rang.

Reign.
