Welp, besides the fact that it's 3am for me rn and it's technically Monday now, I'm feeling pretty good right now.
A while back I asked if people would be able to give me their opinions on a thing I've been writing, and I decided to post it to make it easiest for others.

ontheupsidedownIf you want to give me some constructive criticism even if you didn't comment earlier, please be welcome to do so anyways! I want to try to improve, so more viewpoints from different people could be better. :)
(I wanted to edit this one more time before posting it here for more criticism, but got too busy so I didn't end up doing that. I would've edited the lengths of the paragraphs, since I got a comment about that from a friend.)
Without further ado, here we go!

A young child was walking around her neighbouring forest. She enjoyed walking there; she loved how the trees would cover up half of the sky, not letting many rays of sunshine through, how the wind would dance with the leaves, making rustling sounds along with the animals living in the forest, or how there was nobody to bother her and her thoughts. Just she and her own self, thinking and wondering about her life. It was peaceful and clean, the normal for her, so she was surprised when she came across a burnt piece of metal on her path. It was curved and clearly damaged, making it near impossible to guess what it was before it's destruction. It was dark, almost rusty, it had multiple holes near the ends, and it looked like it could fit in the palm of her hand. It was like it had been a part of something bigger, something that had been destroyed and shattered.
She tried touching it, and besides the shaggy, rusty texture, she could still feel the warmth, like it had been burnt not long before. She looked around herself; she was the only one on the barely visible path, and she knew that not many strayed from the main path of the forest. She didn't hear any animals nearby, which she found strange, and the trees around her were one of the oldest she'd ever seen. She explored her close surroundings for a bit and soon enough, she found other pieces much like the first one laying on the ground. They all seemed to come from the same direction, spreading around only a couple of metres. As a curious girl she was, she followed it, touching the pieces every now and again, and with each one getting slightly warmer than the previous, her curiosity grew.
As she continued following the pieces across the forest, she knew she was straying away from the main path more and more, but her curiosity wouldn't let her turn back. She stopped for a moment to drink water, and she wasn't too surprised to see even older trees, their leaves covering up a bit more than half of the sunlight. She looked behind her and saw that the so-called 'path' she created was only barely visible, if even that. She decided to not think about the possible danger that the pieces were leading her to, instead continuing on with her small quest.
After a small while of more walking, the pieces seemed to suddenly disappear. She was baffled; she had followed a fairly consistent path of them, and now it just ends? She didn't accept this as the truth, so she walked around a bit more, exploring some of the tall, thick bushes nearby. It seemed like a logical place where more pieces could be found from, since it would be easy to hide things in or behind. Walking around the bushes, she noticed a small hole through one of them, and with a tiny moment of hesitation, she crawled through it. The hole had seemed smaller at first, but when she crawled in, she noticed it was more spacious than she had imagined, as well as it was brighter than in her head. Since the bushes seemed to have berries, she had expected there to be thorns inside. Apparently her expectations weren't right today, she thought.
After crawling for a couple of minutes, she was met with an opening between the trees, surrounded safely by the same kinds of bushes as the one she had crawled through. She stood up and admired her surroundings; the trees didn't cover up most of the sky, instead, letting the sun shine through a lot more than in the rest of the forest. The mix of moss and grass felt nice to her feet to touch, and hearing the birds sing and the wind ruffle the leaves made her feel relaxed. She walked around a few steps, looked quickly around; nothing important, just a couple more smaller trees and bushes inside the opening. She looked up again, trying to catch a look of the possible animals in the bushes and trees, and when she let her gaze fall back down, she was met with a sharp object, held almost dangerously near her face.

Been trying to work on this a month now, been progressing slowly with other stuff.
Unlike the usual stuff I write, this is actually something I've had in my mind for a while and has to do with my characters. Usually I just write whatever comes to mind whenever I feel like it. ^^
Thank you for reading, even bigger thanks to those who are willing to help me to get better!
