I used to hate it when you'd shun me
And use the silence treatment to mute me
Chills ran up and down my body
When I heard the things you'd say so freely
All the boosting of your self esteem, and the demolishing of mine
Finally made a realization cross my mind
Enlightening me on your inability to care
Your refusal to empathize the pain that I bear
Talking derogatorily behind my back
Making my secret flaws, well-known facts
Your dramas and gossip simply don't affect me
Yet your toxicity ails my life entirely
I realized that when push comes to shove
Materialistic values will always tower above
Oh, how you caused me so much trouble and distress
Now I have to pick up the pieces of this terrible mess
