"Would you like me to run through the events of today?" Lady Bree grins.
"Sure." I answer, bracing myself for the big day ahead of me.
Lady Bree pulls out a piece of paper from her desk draw and starts reading out loud.
"First is the parade were you will be announcing your engagement to the public. Next, is the photo shoot at Oakford gardens with you and Aaron at noon. Then you will be heading back here to greet your guests for the garden party."
She looks up at me, smiling. I bet life is gravy for her. She just has to read the things, I actually have to do the things.
I suck in a breathe and let it out. This is going to be a long day.
I look up at Lady Bree and smile. "Sounds great!" I lie. "Better go get dressed then. Is Aaron ready to leave?" Even at the sound of me saying Aarons name Lady Bree lights up. "He said he will come by your room to pick you up when he is ready to leave."
"Alright." I pick up my coffee from my desk and finish the delicious drink. "I've gotta go."
----------
The hot water runs down my body, tingling my skin. I massage the fruity scented shampoo in my hair, making it smell fresh and clean.
As I pull the shaver along my legs, the water still trickles over me. Peppermint smelling steam fills the room, softening my vision. I wish I could stay in here forever and never have to go out to the parade. But, of course I have too. For lady Bree, for my dad, for Aaron. And for my people.
--------------------
Elenor runs the coconut oil through my damp, black hair. My white cotton towel is wrapped around my washed body, keeping me warm.
"What hairstyle are you thinking of for today my lady?" Fawn asks me, looking at my reflection in the mirror.
"I'm not sure, something mature looking." I suggest.
Fawn nods her head as she thinks of what to do. She has always been great with styling my hair.
"What about an up-do? And we'll leave a piece of hair swaying at the front of your face to slightly shape it."
I smile in approval as she turns on the blowdryer.
When my hair is finished Elenor moves on to my makeup.
We decide on a orange\brown type eye shadow that will make 'my blue eyes pop'. She then added some blush, concealer, mascara, eyeliner and a light coat of lipgloss. She also persuaded me to rub in a small amount of fake tan, so I will 'glow.'
Smirking, Elenor asked if I wanted to take the stick of gloss incase I needed to reapply. I said no. I'm not planning on kissing Aaron anytime soon. Or ever, really.
Finally, I slip on my white coat dress. It makes my skin look even more tan. I spray on my 'buttercream frosting' scented perfume. My aunt Jen bought it for me as a present years ago.
The only reason I wear it is because it makes me feel like a kid. I have to act grown up all the time; this perfume makes me feel like a little girl who's going on her first date.
As I slip on my white ankle-strap heels, Aaron opens my door and walks into my room.
He turns to look at me, goggle-eyed. My leg is propped up on a chair so I can put my heels on, thus it's exposing my shaved, tanned leg.
I immediately pull my leg down and straighten my dress. Aaron is standing there, speechless.
"You really need to knock." I snap at him. He doesn't respond, just stands there open-mouthed. I narrow my eyes, "What, you've never seen a womens leg before?" He coughs once and tries to compose himself.
