Elena (ooo bet ya didn't see that one coming)

"Enrique how long has it been since you've last seen lorena and Miguel?" I asked.

those kids said that they were going to papa hector's case with all of his letters, but that was a while ago and they said that they would meet us here soon, and they hadn't come yet.

"please tell me that they haven't gone missing again!" Gloria said worried.

"its been almost 15 minutes! what on earth could they still be doing there?" Enrique asked.

"maybe we should go see if we can find them," Berto suggested.

"ok," Enrique replied getting up from the spot he was sitting in.

"please be careful," Louisa said to them as they began to walk to the plaza.

lorena

after we left the bridge and the check in/out areas, we followed hector into the heart of the city. so many people were here, you would think that they would be visiting their familias but instead they were singing and dancing to the music being played.

"what do you think chamacos?" papa hector asked.

"its awesome!" Miguel and I said in unison.

"oh! we should sign up to play on stage!" papa hector said pointing to the sign-up sheet.

we all happily walked over and wrote our names down.

"hang on, we don't have an instrument," I said.

"no worries! our home is a block away! if we go and get it, we should be back in no time!" papa hector said as we followed him down the road.

people gave us some weird looks just like last time, but it wasn't too bad. once we arrived at the home, papa hector opened the door and told us to make ourselves at home while he goes to find his guitar.

not too long later, he came back with a guitar and some black, white and red paint.

"alright, let me get this paint on you two so people don't get scared when they see you," he said opening the paint.

not too long later he finished miguels paint and moved onto mine. I laughed a little bit because it sort of tickled, which caused him to tease me just in a funny way.

when he was done with my face, he began to paint my arms since I was wearing a dress and Miguel was covered all over except for his face.

"there! you two look great! now lets hurry back to that stage!" he said as we ran back to the competition.

"hey are you the riveras?" a man asked us.

"yeah, what's up?" I asked.

"you're on stand by!" he said running to the stage.

"so, what are we going to sing?" papa hector asked.

"I don't know, any ideas you guys?" I asked them.

"hmmm," Miguel thought.

"how about we just do un poco loco like we did last time! the crowd loved it!" papa hector suggested.

"sounds good to me!" I said.

"taking the stage next, we have Miguel, hector and lorena rivera!" the announcer said.

we walked up to the stage which had one microphone, just like last time. Miguel held the guitar and strummed the first few notes while the crowd began to cheer a bit.

"What color's the sky? ¡Ay mi amor, ay mi amor! You tell me that it's red ¡Ay mi amor, ay mi amor!" Miguel sang.

"Where should I put my shoes? ¡Ay mi amor, ay mi amor!  You say, "put them on your head!" ¡Ay mi amor, ay mi amor!" I harmonized with Miguel.

"You make me un poco loco, Un poquititito loco. The way you keep me guessing, I'm nodding and i'm yessing! I'll count it as a blessing. ¡That I'm only un poco loco!" hector joined in as we began to move around and dance.

at this point, the crowd was cheering loudly and singing along.

"The loco that you make me, It is just un poco crazy. The sense that you're not making. The liberties you're taking. Leaves my cabeza shaking. You're just un poco loco. He's just un poco crazy, Leaves my cabeza shaking, He's just un poco crazy, Leaves my cabeza shaking, He's just un poco crazy, Leaves my cabeza shaking, He's just un poco crazy, Leaves my cabeza shaking," we sang and danced around the stage.

"Un poquititititititititititititito loco," we finished.

everyone in the crowd was screaming and cheering. we exited the stage and congratulated each other.

"you did so good chamacos!" papa hector said.

"thanks! you too!" Miguel said.

"alright everyone! whos ready to hear our winners?" the announcer asked.

the back stage managers ushered all of the people in the competition into the stage.

"alright! your third place winner is..... Ayla Riso!" the announcer said.

a girl handed her a metal and a small trophy as she stood in front of everyone smiling.

"your first runner up is....... Rosita, leno, and Allen Mitchell!" she said.

they went up to receive their trophy. I heled papa hector and miguels hands, shaking because I was so nervous. papa hector put his hand on my shoulder to try and relax me.

"and your first place winner issssssssss..... THE RIVERAS!" she said.

everyone in the crowd screamed and cheered and screamed for us. I smiled and happily recived the trophy from the lady who was handing them out.

"THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR COMING AND PARTICIPATING!" she said as everyone clapped and cheered for all of the performers.

we were all ushered off of the stage while music came out of the speakers and everyone in the audience began to dance and sing.
