chapter one—invitations & stores
jo moon jae's perspective
.•*.•*.•*.•*.•*.•.*•*I wake up to see the light from the star that we call Sun, peaking through the curtains of my window. My hazel eyes avert to the right side of my room where my fairy lights still aglow from last night. I must've left them on while studying considering my math and English textbooks by my side.
I softly place both books onto the carpet of my white painted room and sat up in my comfortable bed to stretch my body. I look toward the other side of my room to see a shirtless Yixing sleeping at my desk with my laptop left ajar. I smile a little at the thought of Yixing not wanting to sleep on the floor because of the carpet irritating his soft, delicate skin.
I walk across my room to wake up the peaceful, sound asleep, Yixing Zhang. His hair was messy due to Baekhyun and I braiding and brushing it the night before. He had drool dripping from his mouth and onto my desk which made me cringe a little. "Hey Yixing. You gotta get up." I ruffle his hair with my small, pale hand which results in the taller boy's chocolate brown eyes to flutter open.
Yixing looks up at me with confused eyes and looks around my room. He was probably trying to find Baekhyun and Junmyeon which they obviously weren't there due to them leaving last night after Yixing fell asleep while watching YouTube videos of his favorite American singer, Normani from Fifth Harmony. "Where's Baekhyun and Junmyeon?" Yixing asks after accepting the fact that his best friends were nowhere to be found.
I quietly giggle at his bewildered state and walk over to my two-doored closet. I look at the color ordered array of cotton and denim clothing and run my small fingers across them. I may have a slight addiction to clothes, which isn't healthy at all. "They left thirty minutes prior to you going to sleep." I turn to him as he puts on the white t-shirt that he probably took off due to the fact of my room being a bit warmer than usual.
Yixing stands up from my chair and walks into my bathroom. I follow him to brush my teeth and brush my black and orange, tangled hair. I grab my blue brush from the place where it sat the morning before. Exactly where I left it. "Do you think you might have any clothes for me to wear in your brother's room?" Yixing questioned while trying, but failing, to fix his short, brown hair with his hands that are at least twice the size of mine.
I grab my blue toothbrush from its clean container and turned on the sink before putting my mint scented toothpaste on top of its white bristles. "Yeah. Let me check after I'm done brushing my teeth." I spoke as I started to thoroughly brush my teeth. Yixing strolls past me and out of the bathroom door, closing it behind him.
After I finish brushing my teeth I step out of my bathroom to find Yixing playing a game on my old little Nintendo 3DS. I smile at the sight of him looking at the small device with such concentration and determination. Once I walk out of my room and across the dimly lit hallway I exhale deeply as I place my hand onto the large, silver doorknob. I open the door to my brother, Sun Woo's room.
I haven't been in his room in a long time. I look around and all the memories of us playing together or arguing about the most dumbest things that seemed so important back then come flooding back.
Sun Woo threw my small body onto his fluffy king sized bed while reaching for his sweatshirt with his callous-filled hands. "Moon Jae give me my sweatshirt back!"
I giggle at the ongoing situation while struggling to keep my older brother from getting his black sweatshirt out of my possession. "Bro just let me wear it! It's freezing outside and all my sweatshirts are dirty!"
