Peaceful storm.
Recently I was called this,
Not knowing what it meant...
Then it hit me.
I've seen fire yield before me,
I've seen the devil dance in the glimpse of moonlight,
And, oh, what a shattered heart I hold inside...
I've seen battles lost to the cold metal
Of words never spoken.
I've seen wars rage on for thousands of years inside the eves of my head.
I've seen ships sink,
Planes crash,
And thoughts cut deeper than anything in my entire existence.
I've seen forms of life come at me through
Love,
Hate,
Fear,
Sadness,
And raw anger.
I've seen broken pasts in the eyes
If broken people.
Finally I've seen the brokenness inside me.
I'm a peaceful storm.
Guarded,
Protected,
Distant from any harm speeding my way,
I'm a peaceful storm.
