April knocked on my bedroom door for the fifth time that afternoon. I didn’t reply. I just turned the volume up on my iPod. “Lilia!” she called but I ignored her. I saw my bedroom door open to reveal April. “Go away,” I spat as I pulled one of my earphones out so I could hear her reply. “Not until you tell me what’s wrong,” she said. I huffed and folded my arms. “It’s Nathan, isn’t it? What’s he done? Shall I tell Jake to go after him?” she questioned. “April! Get out of my room!” I shouted, throwing my pillow at her. She caught the pillow just before it hit her and threw it back at me. April looked at me for a moment before sighing and leaving my room.

I checked my phone for what felt like the hundredth time in an hour. I had still had no texts or missed calls. Nathan was angry at me and I felt bad. He made me so happy and I’d hate for things to end now. “Lilia!” April called once again. I rolled my eyes and didn’t reply to her. “Nathan’s sister is here,” she called. I quickly shot up from my bed and tugged my earphone out of my ear, throwing my iPod on the bed before rushing out of my room. Ruby was stood at the front door with a worried expression on her face.

“Ruby, is everything okay?” I asked worriedly. “No. It’s Nathan. He’s in trouble,” she told me, taking my hand and pulling me out of the cabin. I didn’t care that I’d left the cabin with just a pair of shorts and a crop top on. I didn’t care that I wasn’t wearing any shoes. I was worried about Nathan. Ruby continued to run to her cabin with me following close behind. She let go of my hand as she reached the cabin and shot inside. I followed suit, looking around the cabin to see what trauma Ruby had dragged me over here for. But all I saw was Nathan sat on the sofa, TV remote in hand. He stared blankly at me as relief washed over me. I rushed over to him and hugged him. “Thank God you’re okay. I love you, I was worried sick,” I spoke quickly. “You love me?” he asked. I hadn’t even realised I’d said it. “I-I-,” I stuttered before he pressed his lips to mine.

Nathan pulled away and smiled. “I love you too,” he whispered. “You do?” I asked, a smile spreading across my lips. “Yes. I thought I’d never fall in love again but damn, I love you, Lilia,” he said causing my smile to widen. I hugged him again and whispered, “I’m sorry.” He replied, “it’s okay. It’s forgotten.”

“How long do you have left before you go home?” Nathan asked me. I sighed, “two weeks.” I only had two weeks left of Nathan and I really didn’t want to leave him. I wanted him to be a part of my life. We only lived two hours away but I’d still miss him. In the month I’d spent with Nathan I had fallen in love with him and it felt amazing.

“Can we stay together after this holiday? I know we won’t get to see each other much but I don’t want to lose you,” I told him. He smiled, “of course, Babe. I wouldn’t have it any other way.” He planted a soft kiss on my lips. “My birthday is a few days after we go home and I’m having a party because it’s my twenty first. Will you come?” I asked and he nodded, “of course.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.”
