Chapter 6: The Zone

The Zone is the only thing pounding in my head, the word bangs so hard in my brain it make my head hurt.

Okay, so let's just say me and The Zone kind of have a history.

It happened when I was a sophomore (year 10) my big brother Luke took me there one time. I still have no idea why I let him convince me it would be fun. Of course he was dead wrong.

I remember being there for a little bit bored out of my mind until, Luke ditch me for some blonde bimbo. I didn't know how I was going to get home or when he was coming back. Then in walked in Tyler Simpson. The guy I been crushing on since 3rd grade

He was tall with brown eyes and dark hair he wasn't the schools most popular boy but be was nice, especially to me. Out of all the people in A.S.O he was the only one who didn't care about the whole popularity and social status he was just himself, so down to earth and over all, human. He wasn't like everyone else he didn't care about what people thought of him and I admired him for that. I think that's why I like him so much.

Anyways, I was just by myself (as usually) and out of no where he just sat across from me in the booth. He just started talking to me as if we were friends forever, but not in a fake kind of way.

"Hey Keira.... that's your name right?"

"Uh Ye--ss"

"You just look so lonely so I hope you don't mind if I sit by you. I don't know if it's your face or the expression you wear but you always come off as lost to me"

"Oh. Um what do you mean?"

"I don't know, just forget I said anything"

"Okay"

"I never seen you here before, what's that about" he say taking a sip of his smoothie for the first time

"My brother he kinda force me to come then abandoned me"

"That's horrible" he tells me shaking his head.

"See I could never do that to you" he told me flashing me a small smile, causing me to look down embarrassed by my blushing "Don't tell Luke but I think he's a bit of an asshole"

"You and me both" and with that we laugh the first real laugh I had in a while and I was happy to share it with him.

Then just as I think everything going perfect. In walks Stacy this was my first ever altercation with her I didn't no her well but I heard of her.

Then the oddest thing happens she sit at the booth with us right next to Tyler.

"Hey Keira, you look so cute I love your hair!" she smiled at me liked we talked everyday not like this was our very first time talking.

"Uh thanks" she looked from me to Tyler then back to me again

"Am I interrupting something"

"No" I spat out faster than Tyler could get his mouth off his smoothie straw. 

"Good" she said too fast and too happy for my liking, she shifted her body and faced toward Tyler giving him his full attention. "Anyways so, Tyler"

"Hm?" he replies not bothering taking his mouth off his straw

"Well, the Sadie Hawkins dance is coming up soon and you know how the girls have to ask the boys. I was wondering if you would accompany me there?" Stacy said it so confident and smooth like she does this everyday and already knew his reply before he said. I felt hurt, pain, anger but above all other emotion jealousy.

While I just sat there dumbfounded. Praying that he would say no and simply overlook her irresistible smile and smooth skin and her perfect hair and not to mention her unbelievably curvy body.

But, who was I kidding?

"You are the first girl who ask so yeah, why not." He told her this time he wasn't drinking his smoothie and every word he said was loud and clear.

"That's great! I'm glad you said yes, because..." she was grinning ear to ear now "Well there's actually something you have to do first"

"Wait, hold that thought" Tyler pulls his phone out his pocket and read a text message "Aye, I gotta go Stacy but what were saying?"

"Well basically it's not official without an enciation kiss" he gave her a funny look but without hesitation she forced her lips onto his and he kiss her back. All while I'm in the other end of the booth watching my worst nightmare unravel in front of my eyes. Disbelief wash over me but no matter how angry I got all I could do was sit there and watch, literally. My body was froze to the seat and I wasn't able to move.

"Alright, I gotta go Stacy" he told her after they finally pulled away from a very long disgusting kiss. She raised out of the booth so he could slip out from the inside. He made his way towards the exit and it wasn't until the door clicked shut. That's when I realized there was something truly wrong with this girl in front of me. The evil glare she was giving gave me really creepy and uncomfortable. I look down expecting her to get up and leave and go sit someone with her friend but instead she said,

"I'm guessing you like Tyler?"

Uh.. um.. no ew no, what are you talking about?"
She sucks her teeth and I knew she wasn't buying it "Please, it's more obvious than your tragic outfit."

I give her an "are you serious" look and she shoots one right back at me.

"See you know what's sad you like him and I liked Luke but we all can't get what we want. That's just how life goes and sooner or later your gonna have to realize it's not all about you"

What is she talking about? I never talk to her day in my life where was all this animosity toward me coming from. I give her a puzzled look because I can't really seem to figure her out.

"Don't give me that stupid look you heard what your brother did to me don't play dumb I've been the laughing stalk of the school but he's gone now graduated and he won't be here to protect you once I ruin your life like he did mine" I stared at her dumbfounded I wanted to speak but I couldn't find the word. So, guessing she won by the look on my stupid face, she got up, turnt on her heels and sashayed straight out the door with a huge smirk on her face.

It was the most humiliating day of my life.

That all it took to put mission ruin Keira's life in action.
