Birds in a Basket

A Danny and Jelly Kid request from wasabii_ginger ! I hope you like it!💖

As you slowly woke up from your slumber you felt a bit cold as if something was missing. As you gained more of an awareness you realized you were right as the other half of Danny's bed was empty. Ever since you two got together you had been cuddling in his bed so both of you could be the first to see each other, but it seemed today he was absent. Thoughts began spinning through your head as you tried to put the puzzle together on where he could be until your gaze set on a yellow sticky note that was placed on a mechanical part that was set aside near his bed. You reached out to grab it and as you read it your questions were finally answered.

The note simply read, "Went to the mall to pick up something. I'll be back soon." You smiled a bit setting the note aside and lied back down looking at the large glass windows of all the fish that passed by. Something had touched your feet however and as you moved them abruptly you expected to see Robochris as he always seemed to be creeping up on people, but thankfully it was only Jelly Kid. "Whew..You gave me a little scare there buddy!" He stood up looking around the room a bit. "Oh, you must be looking for Danny, he left this here." You grabbed the note handing it to him as Jelly Kid grabbed it with his nubby little hands. After he read it he gently put it down and made one of his little "pshew" noises followed by 2 slices of bread. He handed it to you smiling and you gladly took it smiling back. "Aww thanks Jelly Kid!"

Though as soon as you looked down at the two slices an idea popped into your head. "Hey! How about we make Danny a little surprise for when he gets home!" As soon as you got up you picked Jelly Kid up gently putting him on your shoulder. He complied grabbing on as the two of you exited his room. You began walking throughout the hideout saying good morning to all of your friends as they started their day. "Good Morning Beth!" You said waving as she came out of her room in her green robe with messy jet black hair. "Morning Y/N." She said in between yawns. You finally made it to the Kitchen to find KofferKuli brewing some coffee and Tea. It was almost as if Danny asked him to make it before he left, which was probably the case since he knew you liked tea in the morning.

"Oh! Don't forget to add a little bit of half and half, he likes his creamy." You said smiling getting out cups for him. While he couldn't speak, you could tell he heard you as he went into the fridge to grab some. After he poured the tea he gave you your cup and went back to preparing the coffee maker. "Okay, so here's the plan buddy." You said grabbing the eggs out of the fridge and a pan from the cabinet. Jelly Kid looked a little confused as he crawled over to you but as soon as you smiled at him and told him you were making birds in a basket for Danny when he gets home. Jelly Kid seemed on board with the idea as he stared at you while you prepared the dish occasionally getting some help from him.

Very soon though the both of you finished and you made sure to set everything on the table and get his coffee in a mug. "Great job Jelly Kid!" You said giving him a small high five as he returned it giving you one with his nubby hands. The door of the hideout was opened and suddenly a voice rang out. "I'm home!" You smiled widely grabbing Jelly Kid running to the front door to greet your beloved. "Hi Danny!" He was slightly taken back by your sudden hug as you charged at him but gladly accepted his hug. "Heh, someone missed me!" He kissed you gently on your forehead before putting his bags down and looking at Jelly Kid. "There's my Jelly Kid! What did you guys do when I was gone? Anything good?" You smiled grabbing his hand and bringing him to the kitchen to the booth.

"Well, since you were gone we thought it would be a great idea to make you breakfast!" As the both of you sat down to your birds in a basket Danny smiled widely pulling you closer to him. "Man Y/N this looks like the bomb! You really didn't have to do this." You mirrored the look of adoration on his face giving him
a big kiss on the cheek. "Anything for my Dan-Dan." The rest of the morning had been spent happily with many laughs, smiles and just overall good and happy vibes.

He knew he picked the right one and felt forever grateful for you.
