We all decide on pizza for lunch and luckily Erik and Sophia know the area well and bring me to their favorite. Over lunch Sophia writes down all the information that I need for my first day of work on Tuesday. We continued with different small talk until the bill is brought to the table. I demanded that I was going to pay for the meal for all of their help, Erik objects and then finally agreed to let me pay. He brings the bill up to the counter; he returns to the table and hands my card back to me saying lunch is on him. What a shithead!

It was about two when they dropped me back off at my apartment. It does not feel like that much time has passed while we were at the restaurant. I guess it's true, time fly's when you're having fun. When I get upstairs I sit down on the couch and flip on the TV. After I find something to watch I realize that I am exhausted. Maybe it's all the excitement of today with getting a job and finding my possible new best friend and her very attractive brother, or maybe it's the concussion. Either way I grab the blanket off the back of the couch and snuggle up and doze off.

When I wake up its dark outside, I look at my phone and its six thirty and I have two new text messages. The first is from Sophia.

Sophia: Hey Girlie! How are you feeling? As bad as it sounds I'm glad you got hurt outside our house!  Maybe it was fate for us to become friends! I think your pretty great and cannot wait to see you on Tuesday!

Me: Hey, sorry I fell asleep on the couch. I am feeling pretty good. It is a little crazy to think a small bit of clumsiness has brought you guys and a job into my life in one day!

Sophia: I know right! Karma is apparently on our side. Mitch just got home, I better go. Let me know if you need anything, have a good night.

Me: You too, thanks!

I move to the next message which is surprisingly from Erik.

Erik: Hey I hope you don't mind that I saved your number. I just wanted to check and see how your feeling?

Me: Its fine, I don't mind. I was exhausted when I got home so I took a nap. I'm feeling pretty good now though. Headache is starting to go away and soreness isn't quite as bad.

Erik: Good I'm glad to hear.

Me: I'm not sure if I said this earlier but thank you for all your help. I really appreciate. Also thanks for not being a murderer and killing me.

Erik doesn't reply in the quick manner as he just had. Maybe I stepped over the line with the murderer joke and now he just thinks I'm weird, great. Just as I am about to go pout about how stupid that was, my phone beeps. Oh good it's from Erik, maybe I didn't totally screw this up on day one.

Erik: Ha-ha I guess I could say the same thing about you as well.

I make dinner and do a little bit of cleaning around the apartment.  I shoots few random text messages back and forth with Erik. I need to work on getting rid of these boxes since the chance of me having guests over has greatly increased in the last twenty four hours. I also need to find the box with my dress clothes in it so I have something for work on Tuesday. Sophia said I could wear jeans and a t-shirt, but that doesn't seem very work appropriate so I'm not sure if she was kidding. I figure its best to be overdressed on the first day than underdressed. Before I know it's already almost ten and I am exhausted again.

Me: I am going to head to bed. I am exhausted. Thank you again for everything! Good night.

Erik: That sounds like a good idea. I've been lying in bed waiting for you to get tired. I did not sleep well last night worrying about you. Good night and sleep tight Emma.
