The Blues

Mother? you say

What is it my child?

I have the blues today... You respond

Let's go for a walk, shall we?

Can you smell the rain?

Do you see the sun peeking through the trees?

How the puffy clouds litter the bright blue sky,

And the breeze gives them the slight push they need.

Do you hear the birds sing?

The way they're synchronized,

How they harmonize?

The beautiful melody played for the world to hear;

That's my way of telling you we will be okay

Come on then, let's walk some more

Just remember to watch out for ants,

For they are also very important.

Red, yellow, brown, and orange

All the leaves are going through a change

It's gorgeous don't you think?

Do you see what I see?

Silence...

My child, do you see what I see? I repeat

Mother, I'm not so sure... you say

And as I stand there in shock,

My mouth wide open,

Realization struck me.

There is no cure for the blues.

Water pours from the sky,

Rivers run down my cheeks

I cannot just simply fix this...

Flashes of light appear and in a blink of an eye,

They're gone.

My child, I may not be able to fix you, but we will wait this out.

The fierce storm slowly comes to a stop,

No longer making such a ruckus.

The birds chip once again;

The warm rays of sun start to peek through the clouds,

Mother? You say

Yes, my child?

I don't have the blues anymore.
