saturday came along and byul was busy preparing for her mother's party that night.

she was putting on the last touches of her makeup, her phone buzzed and she smiled looking at who it was.

*kihyunnie: sorry i couldn't make it tonight byulie. have fun and send me pics!

*byulie: it's alright! i'll see you tomorrow. if anything happens, i'll text or call you! take a break sometimes and don't overwork yourself mr. ceo!

right as she finished sending the text, her mother yelled,

"byulie! minhyuk and wonho are here!" byul rushed to the two and watched both their jaws dropped when they saw how beautiful byul looked.

"you look so good! if kihyun were to see you, you would be pregnant by tomorrow!" byul blushed and smacked minhyuk's head.

"thanks but i'll pass on kids... for now." she winked making the boys howl. "eomma!!! SHE SAID SHE WANTS KIHYUN'S KIDS IN THE FUTURE!" wonho yelled and byul's eyes widened.

her mother sped towards the three and smirked already knowing byul's interest in kihyun, "so kihyun's the boy my byulie's been thinking about!" byul death glared at the two boys and groaned when her mother started to tease her making the boys laugh.

"okay! i'll be heading to the venue first! minhyuk, wonho. take care of byul and you know the plan right?" eomma winked and they gave her a thumbs up while smiling.

byul looked at the two with a questioning face but the two just shrugged, pushing her into the car. byul sighed and her eyes widened when the two sped off to the direction of the venue. "slow down!!"

as the pulled up to the venue, wonho got out of the car and opened the door for her, offering his hand. byul shot him a weird look but took his hand anyways.

following after minhyuk, the two entered the party hall where the spotlight was on them the moment the duo entered.

"welcome! mr. lee minhyuk, mr lee. hoseok! best friends of ms. eun byul, the daughter of ms. eun seol." the claps of people were echoed around the room as the three walked towards her mother.

byul's lips quivered as she gasped for air once everyone sat back down and she was faced with her mother. "gwenchana, byulie?" byul nodded once she took a sip of her water.

"i would also like to welcome mr. yoo kihyun! ceo of yoo designs!" byul coughed and blinked her eyes rapidly to make sure she was seeing him correctly.

he took a sat next to her and smiled, "annyeong, byulie." byul turned to look at wonho and minhyuk with her face bright red but they just gave her cheeky smiles.

"mrs. eun will now speak." byul's mom walked up onto the stage and smiled at the crowd in front of her.

"hello everyone. i have something very important to announce." the room was dead silent as they waited for her to continue.

"i would like to welcome back my co-ceo and husband, mr. chae hoon!" byul choked on her water and coughed as she looked up at the man next to her mother. her eyes immediately watered and held kihyun's arm tightly as she could not breathe.

"a-appa.."

"byul!" kihyun held her worriedly and led her out of the building causing byul's mother looked at byul worriedly but she continued to talk to distract everybody. her two best friends stood up to check on byul but sat back down as it would cause a scene if the four of them were missing.

byul cried for a while in kihyun's arms. she could not believe that her father was back. she was happy of course but her feelings of his absence overwhelmed her. "kihyun-.. i missed him so much..." she whispered and clutched onto his jacket sleeve.

"it's okay byulie, just let it all out." he pat her back softly and listened as her sniffles began to come to a stop.

"i'm sorry you had to witness me like this." her sudden apology caught kihyun off guard making him hold her cheeks.

"i know i may not be the best but i told you i would be there for you when you need me." his sweet words melted byul's little heart. she smiled and held his hands that were on her warm cheeks.

without saying anything more, the duo instinctively stood up and walked back into the venue. kihyun smiled at byul as she was still dying over his words. byul took a few deep breaths and talked to guests to calm her down.

"hey sweetie.. i'm sorry i startled you." her dad approached her with a apologetic look and she hugged him tightly.

"i just missed you so much appa. i never thought i'd see you again.." her eyes trailed to look around but stopped when she saw the boy she liked with a girl. she couldn't stop herself making her father look in the same direction as byul.

"ahhh.. mom told me about this. you like him right?" byul quickly shook her head trying to deny the fact but gave up and nodded when her father gave her a look.

"his name is yoo kihyun, he's the ceo of the company i work at. he's really sweet once you get to know him, appa." her father smiled and kissed her forehead.

"i see. invite him over for dinner one day, i'd like to speak to the boy." she nodded and held his arm.

"wait- you're staying?! you're not going back to the states?" byul smiled.

"mm nope. when i left you and your mom here, i thought i could manage and take a few trips here and there but i realized i couldn't. i need the two most beautiful women in my life right next to me. i found someone trustworthy to run the company for me." byul jumped and hugged him tightly.

"sweetheart, that girl is all over your man. i think you should go claim him." her mother called and byul's head turned to the duo.
