School seemed incredibly boring after lunch. I struggled to take notes in classes and none of the boys were in any of my classes except for Ash. Seth had geography with me but I didn't have that class today.
I started couting the seconds before the final bell rang, and when it did, I flung out of the class room and ran to my locker. Brenda was supposed to take me shopping today. A pang of guilt was deep in my heart because my mother and I would aways go shopping together. And even though I knew I could never replace my mother, the whole stuation felt somewhat wrong.
I quickly wiped that thought out of my head when I saw Brenda in her car waiting for me.
"How was your first day?" She asked as soon as I entered the car.
"Fine." I said.
"What did Ash do?" She asked.
"What! How do you know that Ash did anything?" I asked.
"Because, out of all my boys, Ash is the hardest one to handle. He can be stuborn and a big jerk. In all these years, Ash hasn't had a teacher who had no problems with him. I've learned the tell-tale signs that Ash has done something, and honey, your reeking of them."
"He ditched me on the way to school." I said.
"He what! I swear, when I see that boy! He is grounded for a month! God I leave him with one thing and he messes it up?" She screamed.
"Oh, its okay, I've already gotten my revenge on him." I said with a grin.

Shopping was good. We talked and laughed, but by the end of it, I was exhausted. Plus, I had a ton of homework to do if I wanted to catch up to the rest of the class.
I waked into my room to find Noah, sitting on my floor, playing with Lego.
"Um hi." I said.
"Hi."
"What are you doing?" I asked putting my backpack in my bed and sitting on the floor in front of him.
"Playing with Lego." he replied.
"Well would you like some help with it?" I asked. A grin appeared on his face as he looked at me with wide eyes.
Oh well, homework will just have to wait.
"There! Finished!" I said a I put down the last piece of Lego on to our awesome space ship.
Noah happily picked it up and started running around my room making motor noises.
I shook my head.
"Alright, now get out of here I gotta do my homework." I said ruffling his hair.
"Aww, can we just play a little longer?" he asked. I shook my head.
"Sorry buddy, I gotta do my homework or else I'll flunk high school." I said.
"So what?" he asked.
"So... If I flunk then I'll never be able to get a good job and move out." I said as I tugged him towards the door.
"That's good, it means you can live with us forever!" he exclaimed. I gave him a smile before shutting my door and exhaling deeply.
There was a small knock on my door, and I silently prayed that it wasn't Noah asking if I could play with him like it had been the last 5 times.
I opened it up, and luckily it wasn't Noah, it was worse, Ash.
"Can I help you?" I asked raising my eyebrows.
"Just came to say hi." he said with a smirk.
"Yeah well, I have homework, and I bet you do too, so I gotta go." I said trying to close the door.
"Hey wait! Listen I'm sorry about this morning and I'd just like to say that I think it was really nice that you played with Noah, none of us really have the time for that." he exclaimed.
"It's nothing. Noah's sweet..." I said. Somehow through him talking, he managed to get through me and into my room and he plopped himself down on my bed.
"Like I said before, don't you have homework? Or sports or something important to do?" I asked.
"What could be more important that hanging out with you?" he asked with a smirk. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay then, if your going to stay then can you at least show me how to calculate the surface area of a cylinder?" I asked looking at my math homework on my desk.
"Oh thats easy all you do is 2 multiplied by pi then multiply by the radius twice. Then you do pi multiplied by the diameter, base multiplied by the height. Once your done, add up your answers and that's it!" he said.
I looked up at him. "Come again?"
We spent the whole afternoon doing math, and by the end of it, I knew how to do it to perfection.
"Wow! I never took you for a math genius." I said closing my books.
"There is a lot you don't know about me." he shrugged.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked.
"Doing what?"
"You know exactly what I'm talking about! Why do you keep hitting on me? Why are you even trying to get to know me? I've been at school one day and I can already tell that every girl in school is head over heels for you." I said looking at him seriously.
"You're different." he said simply.
"Thank you?" I said although it sounded more like a question.
"I mean, there is that you are different, but if your going to live with us for like the rest of your life, I might as well get to know you right?" he said.
"I guess." I said still not fully understanding.
"Anyways, I gotta go , but I'll see you at dinner kay?" he asked.
"Kay" I said happy to finally get some time to myself.
