Before The Flash

Previously In the first book You and I-

I stand up on my tippy toes like the first time I kissed Damon, and hold my face inches away from his teasing him.

Not being able to wait any longer I press my lips to his. Some thing feels strange, I pull away a white light flashes and the world around falls away.

Nadia's POV

I'm sorry

~twenty four hours before the white flash~

Nadia's POV.

"Nadia your home, it's so good to see you," Katherine says greeting me with a hug.

I put my bags down on the couch and sit down.

"How was your trip to New Orleans?"

She asks while pouring herself a glass of blood.

"It was okay I mostly spent my time with the coven of witches there working on the spell to allow Elijah to father a child, I didn't get much partying in."

I say glumly, my life pretty much sucks, I am a 500 year old vampire/traveler who spent her whole life searching for her mother, and now is just an errand girl for her mother's friends.

It's like every day a new person in the group decides they want to get pregnant. It drains all of my energy and it takes most of my power.

I miss being with the travelers. Doing spells with them was as easy as breathing air, we all channeled each other giving us the strength to do any spell without being warn out. I play with the necklace the travelers gave me when I left, they gave me this necklace so if I ever changed my mind about leaving that I could find them.

I stood up, went out the front door and into the woods in the front of the house.

i begin to chant softly, clutching the traveler necklace in my hands as I make my way to the clearing near by. Its been sixteen years since I had last seen my family, I have missed them so much, even though I finally found my mother I have been miserable living with her I feel like my life has no purpose besides allowing vampires to be knocked up. I probably should have put more thought into teaming back up with the travelers but I let my heart take the lead.

It doesn't take long for the first traveler appear. Repeating the chant.

My necklace begins to glow and I feel a rush of power surge through my body.

"Nadia, it seems that you've missed us."

Anastasia calls out.

"It appears that I have," I reply. the travelers move out of the woods around me. At first they move cautiously, but then Anastasia hugs me. and the tension evaporates.

"Welcome home Nadia you are one of us again, but if we are to welcome you with open arms, you must do one thing for us first. On our way here we noticed a 16 year old that was not a full vampire living in a house nearby.

I'm assuming that is the child that you told us was dead many years ago when you left.

Now we were upset by this, but we figured you could get his blood for us as a way of repaying us ."

she smiles sickly.

"I believe you live right next door to this 16 year old, "

I shudder Cody is a nice boy innocent, a product of true love. but I couldn't live this life any longer I needed redemption.

"Now we will wait for you here until dark, when you return the world will be a different place,"

I open the door to the boarding house.

"Hey Nady good to see you back from New Orleans, I hope you didn't party to hard, would you like to join me, KC and my parents for breakfeast,"

Cody holds out a glass of orange juice.

I cringe he used my nickname that he used to call me when he was a child when he couldn't pronounce Nadia.

" I won't be staying for long,"

I say. he frowns.

I begin to chant. Cody collapses. I pull a knife from my back pocket and cut his wrists I dump out the orange juice in a vase and use the glass to fill it with Cody's blood.

I use my hearing to check and make sure Elena and Damon are preoccupied which they are, making out.

I leave Cody Lying on the couch.

I run into the Kitchen and grab a sliver bowl I dump the blood into it and run out of the house.

I return to the woods, back to the travelers . they stand in a semi circle.

"Well that was quick," Anastasia says. she is obviously the new leader.

"I didn't have much difficulty,"

I say. she nods

"Well then let's begin,"

Each traveler takes a pin and pricks their finger and mix their blood with Cody's.

We begin to say the spell.

"Say goodbye to sprit magic my friends," Anastasia yells over the wind howling through the trees.

I feel the ground start to shake and then the world turns white.

Elena's POV.

I feel myself tumbling, it's endless all I can see is white. I reach for Damon remembering that right before the world fell apart that he was next to me.

But there was nothing.

The light gets brighter and brighter until I can't see anymore.

Instead of tumbling I am now falling.

Finally, I land. Surprisingly the landing is soft and comfortable. the white gone. My eyes adjust to seeing,

I'm in a bed that's in a large room , one that I've never been in. A chandelier above my head and portraits on the wall. I get up shakily, and make my way to the door at the front of the room. I grasp the handle hoping that I will find someone outside the door. and I do, outside my door stands Gusseipe Salvatore.
