Chapter Ten

This chapter is told in Robin's point of view the day he's meeting with Slade.

"This is it," I called to Starfire and Cyborg from my communicator."Pier 41, exactly where that madman told us to meet him." We were determined to do whatever it would take to find our friends, even if it meant exposing us to the dangers that this mission had in store. All of us lived for danger, and justice. We were heroes, and we were going to save our friends no matter what it took.

"I hear someone, I believe he has arrived." I heard Starfire call in.

"Let's regroup." I replied. I wanted to make sure the possibilities of a trap were down to a minimum and so we needed to search the area. Starfire flew in quickly and so did Cyborg.

"Hello Titans. I've been expecting you." said a voice coming from all kinds of directions.

"Show yourself!" I yelled.

"Patience oh desperate one, you'll get what's coming." he answered.

"Just cut to the chase man." said Cyborg completely lacking patience as we all did.

"If you insist. I'll appear." Just as he said that he appeared a few feet in front of us.

"Woah, look who's learned a new trick." muttered Cyborg.

"Tell us where they are!" I demanded.

"Robin , you want your friends so badly ? Well here they are now."

Suddenly a hologram appeared in front of us showing Raven and Beast Boy sitting together by a fire. Beast Boy was no longer the deadly beast that attacked us earlier. Raven had a long claw mark that ran all the way from her temple, across her cheek, and ended at her lower chin.

"Friends!" gasped Starfire.

"Why aren't they returning home?" asked Cyborg.

"Oh they cannot escape fellow Titans," replied Slade. "That 'cave' that they are in is exactly where I lured that hideous Beast while he was blinded by rage. It was quite simple really. Of course they haven't exactly realized where they are just yet."

"AGHHH!" I ran to attack him with all the force in my body, when he teleported even farther away. I kept trying to hurt him, destroy him even, for all of his foul tricks. However, it was to no avail.

"Now now, I have a... say... a proposal of sorts for all of you. Suppose we have a trade, I give you your friends, and you give me something worth more than both of them combined in return."

I was on the ground panting due to all the missed blows I delivered to nothing.

"What do you desire?" questioned Starfire with fury written all over her face.

"You, Starfire. " he said menacingly.
