So, these are both blasts from the past, back from the depths of the eighth grade! I do hope that you enjoy! I know some people prefer poems to haikus, so here are a few to balance out the haikus I wrote the other day. Cheers!
TRAIN TRACKS!!!!!
===============================================================================
Leaves crumble underneath my feet.
Few cling to the dead branches now.
Flowers wither,
Clouds frown,
The sun refuses to shine,
As I walk by.
A curse or a blessing?
I cannot tell.
As I speak to the stars,
They dim.
Nothing to guide me.
The sky darkens under my touch.
Water blackens,
Plastic melts,
Glass shatters,
Yet I continue to walk,
Yearning for home.
My hope cannot shine
In a night
So dark.
Sunrise cannot save me now.
Sunset has come.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Summer is deep on the skin
And a light seems to come from within
It seems like all bad weather is at an end
But then it begins to rain
Again
The spring flowers shed their coats
As if trying to shed the sleepy frost as well
Even though the wind may howl like a demon
Their roots stay in the ground
Again
Sugar tries to sour
And snow tries to turn back into rain
But they'll keep failing, over and over
Again
