NOVEMBER 24thRECORDING: START
Hello. I am Nimja, and this is the story of an underworld, a cyclops, and a lesson in finger-snapping.
No, I'm not kidding. I taught the god of the underworld how to snap his fingers.
The Greek god of the Underworld, to be precise.
Yes, I am of course talking about Hades, the name which has brought fear and anger into millions of people for generations.
Now, you're likely thinking to yourself that hanging out with Hades is a terrible, terrible idea. After all, Hades is the Greek god of the underworld, and he's evil at that. He's likely to kill you whenever he gets the chance... right?
Hm.
:)
On the contrary.
Hades isn't actually a bad guy at all. He never was a bad guy, and if you didn't realize that then you obviously haven't read any form of Greek mythology before. Not to mention, of course, that I have met Hades, and I have found him to be quite enjoyable. Of course, he may be a bit awkward, especially when it comes to the Dutch language, but he has a kind heart.
Not to mention his desire to be an Olympian.
By that, I don't mean a gold medal winner. I mean an Olympian, as in the 12 gods of Mount Olympus. To be honest, before I met Hades I hadn't even considered the possibility that he could be up there with his brothers Poseidon and Zeus.
After meeting him, however?
I can't imagine him anywhere else but Mount Olympus- except perhaps the Underworld.
Seriously, I don't know why Hades wasn't made an Olympian in the first place.
And the quest started with the Spoken.
I was in the Spoken's castle- more specifically, in their library- and after reading Frozen Youth for the millionth time (who could blame me? I did write it, after all), I had started to get a bit bored of reading the same book over and over again. Luckily for me, though, the Spoken's library was huge enough that there was a very wide selection of books I could choose from.
I almost picked English Spoken. Almost.
But I decided that reading that book was too much of a punishment for me.
:)
So I offered it to Crowe, and he being the Dutch pun lover that he is gladly accepted.
Meanwhile, I went back to looking through the bookcases, and eventually after looking through it for about 5 minutes I noticed a giant book that had to be about 500 pages long. I took one look at the spine, and what I saw instantly surprised and intrigued me.
GREEK MYTHOS
ON GODS, HEROES, AND MYTHICAL MONSTERSA book on Greek mythology?
Well, this was certainly intriguing...
I took it out and instantly began flipping through the pages.
What I saw was something that I definitely wasn't expecting.
As the book's title had stated, the book indeed contained tons of info on the Greek myths and monsters. Medusa. The Minotaur. The Cyclops. Odysseus. The Hydra. All of them incredibly well-known, well-loved figures of Greek mythology.
And then, of course, there were the gods and goddesses. All of them were Pokémon.
Zeus. God of thunder. Species: Thunderus.
