"Can we go to the snowy place?" Clay smiled at me, "Yup! It's over by the far end of the mountains. Follow me." He turned right and flew down the middle of the mountain range. I dove after him, I caught up with him and looked down at the mountains. I smiled as a flock of geese flew by.
We flew over the mountains for a bit, I saw a pack of wolves chasing a hurt, "Pegasus!" I shouted as I stopped gliding. "What?" Clay looked down and saw the wolves, "What do we do?!" I hooted, panicking. Clay thought of something, "Some griffins hunt wolves, if we fly above them and make sounds like a hawk or eagle, we can scare them to run off and hide."
I nodded as we flew down close to the trees, "Ready?" Clay said as he flew next to me. "Ready." Clay speed up and glided above the trees of the wolves, he cawed and the wolves paused and looked up into the sky. I speed up as well and made a strange growling sound that sounded like echoed clicking.
The Pegasus was cornered and couldn't run, but Clay flew over the trees again and cawed again. "Fly down! It will scare them off!" Clay dove into the trees, I quietly dove down as well into a tree. He jumped between the wolves and the Pegasus, he lifted his wings to look bigger and roared like a lion.
The wolves jumped back and whimpered, the tried to run away but I jumped down and yowled like a wild cat. The skidded back from me and ran off whimpering. I chuckled as they ran away from my sight, I turned to see the Pegasus neighing at Clay, "Get away you horrid beast!" The Pegasus shouted. I rushed over the Clay, "Calm down we were just helping you."
The Pegasus calmed down, "You don't plan to eat me?" Clay and I shook our heads, "Nope, but you are hurt. Where do you live Pegasus?" The small Pegasus neighed, "My name is Crystal. I am one of the Pegasus from the higher herd of horses, the Winter Wings herd." Clay's eyes widened but I was confused, "It's a pleasure to met one of the higher ranks of creatures."
He bowed down to Crystal, he nudged me to bow too. I quickly bowed as well, I whispered to him, "Who are the Winter Wings?" Crystal said boldly, "The Winter Wings is a major in the creature's facility. Humans can hear what we say because we are majors. There are five major groups, the horses, dragons, were-wolves, mefwas, and the highest major of them all, the Ushatas."
"Each major has an important role and place in the world. If one of the majors were lost, then the element they hold will be destroyed." Clay said. I understood but I didn't know why Crystal was here. "Why are you here then? And not at your home?"
Crystal sighed, "I was supposed to deliver a hurt snowy rabbit to the high mountains, where it lives, and once I was done the pack of wolves attacked me." Clay looked at me, "We will help you get back to your home. Do you need assistant to fly?" Crystal nodded and put her hoof on a black box on Clay's collar.
A saddle appeared and there was a perfect spot for a Pegasus. Crystal hopped onto Clay's saddle and put the harness on. "Follow me Moon." He jumped up into the sky as I took off after him. Clay continued to fly over the mountain range, I saw a forest with snow, like a blanket, covering the land. The air had a chill as we went into the snowy lands.
I felt snowflakes melt on my fur, they scattered along my wings as I flew. The cold draft of wind bit my paws, I followed Clay as he flew down into the snow covered land. "A snowstorm. You won't be able to fly in this weather, the snow will clog your wings and you won't be able to fly." Crystal snorted.
I squinted as a large gust of wind bristled my fur and feathers, "I can't see a thing out here." I complained. Clay looked around, "You are right. Perhaps we should rest here for a while, until the storm passes." Crystal looked at Clay with horror, "We can not stay here! This is where the snow beasts live!"
I shudder from those word, Snow beasts?! I wondered what the snow beasts where but worried on what the snow beasts can do. "W-what do we do?" I shivered in the uncomfortable weather. Crystal looked at me confused, "Aren't you a snow owl?" Clay shook his head and nuzzled against me, "No. She is a barn owl. She has never been in the snow before, she was locked away to become a racing griffin."
