The air turned colder after every minute, but the taste of freedom would last for a millions to come. I opened my eyes and the sun was almost gone. Clay nudged me, "Let's eat." He turned and went over to the buffalo and started to eat it. I joined him shortly after one last glance at the setting sun.
I have never tasted something so good in my life! The buffalo was better than the cut meat Gordon gave me. Gordon. I hated that name, the way he treated me was awful. I'm glad I escaped while I could.
I finished eating the buffalo, I saw Night nibbling on some grass and Hyacinth eating a sandwich. Clay ate the last piece of meat, all that was left was bones. The sun was gone but the water now sparkled with stars and clouds. Hyacinth got on Clay's back, I leaned down for Night to hop on mine.
We silently took off into the night sky, without a word, without a chirp, without a squeak. The night was cold, but good. The wind was nice, calm and gentle. Clay headed down to the houses, I followed as well.
Hyacinth got off of Clay and Night jumped down from me. The stars simmered and shined in the darkness. Clay went into the house and Hyacinth went into her's, followed by Night, "Sorry but I'm going inside with Hyacinth. Tonight is too cold for me." I nodded at Night's words.
I headed in with Clay, I layed next to him. His eye sparkled like the stars, "Goodnight Moon." I purred, "Goodnight Clay." I closed my eyes, in seconds I was in deep sleep. I opened my eyes to a new day.
I got up, I yawned and stretched. I have never slept like that before. I looked over to see Clay was out. I walked outside to Hyacinth, Night, and Clay eating. "Why didn't you guys wake me up?" I wondered. Clay smiled, "Well that was your first night free. We all woke up at diffrent times."
I cooed and tilted my head, "So we wake up when we want?" Clay nodded. "We have some deer for you Moon. I had to stop Clay from eating it all." Night squeaked. Hyacinth laughed, "Well eat up, Clay is heading out to help Night with something."
I walked up and started to eat the deer, "This is so good! It has no fat or anything!" I grabbed another beak full of meat. Night got on Clay's back, "Welp. We are heading out. See you around Moon!" "Bye Moon!" They took off and I kept eating the deer. Hyacinth looked at me.
I finished eating the deer, Hyacinth looked up in the sky, "Want to have a girls day?" I cooed and tilted my head, she smiled and walked toward me, "As in you and me. Just the two of us. I can teach you some tricks."
I chirped, "Yeah, I can learn tricks." She scanned her hand on the box, a saddle showed up on my back. She jumped on my back, "Okay, let's do this over the ocean. I can help show you were it is." She patted my side, I jumped up in the sky and flew over to the beach that we went to last night.
The salty wind battered my pelt, the light mist tickled my paws. Hyacinth said, "Do you know how to spin?" I shook my head, "I can teach you. You just spin while you fly, but tuck you wings in."
I turned around to make sure we wouldn't go to far from land. I held my breath and I tucked my wings, I spun around quickly and put my wings back out to keep gliding over the water. That felt good, it was awesome!
"That was awesome!" Hyacinth chuckled, "You can do it going anyway, but there is a few more things. Like the pose or the dive." I was confused by these words, Pose? Dive? "To do the pose you just fly up, make a pose, and fly back down." That doesn't sound hard at all. "To do the dive is you dive and just when you are about to hit the ground, the glide over."
She grabbed on to me tightly, "Try to do all three of them, start with pose, then dive, and spin after you did the dive." I chirped and flew up in the air, I was close to the clouds. Before I went into the clouds I stopped and made a roaring lion pose. I let my body fall.
