Chapter 10

The sun was shining for a change. My trip home was nothing like I had expected it to be. I sighed as I walked into the gate of the graveyard. I decided the best idea would be to visit my mum’s grave… I knew she was the only one who didn’t hate me. Tom told me the graveyard and my house with him were the only places she could hear me… Her eyes were always on me, watching over me, but the only place I could proper talk to her. As I walked in the place was empty part from a family in the far corner. I looked over when a certain someone caught my eye.

“Tom?” I mumbled to myself as I walked across to the grave stone. Tom turned to look at me shock on his face… He didn’t expect to see me. He walked over me to sadness in his eyes. I frowned when I saw his face. I soon realised it was his grave, the people were his friends and family. “Please don’t mention anything.” He said I nodded as I walked over and lay down some flowers next to his grave. His mum looked at me. I recognised her from the photo’s Tom had showed me. I turned to look at Tom he shook his head. I didn’t need to plead he nodded. “You know Tom’s proud of you for how well you’re handling this. There’s not a day that goes by that he doesn’t think about you. He will be always watching over you. You’re his mum and he loves you that will never change.” I said as tears rolled down my cheeks as Tom wrapped his arms around me telling me everything to say to her. “W- Who are you and how do you know all this?” She asked everyone turned to look at me. Tom squeezed my waist letting me know everything was okay. “I’m a friend of Tom… I know this might sound mad but he’s here. Right now, watching you. He comes back here every week when you’re here. He hears everything you say, he’s never far away.” I said as my voice turned into nothing as my nerves got the better of me. They looked at me like I was crazy she went to shout as tears filled her eyes. I turned to Tom. “Please show yourself Tom? They can’t say it’s against the rules there your family… Just say bye Tom. You need to.” I said chocking on my words. He nodded.

 He let go my hand and walked in front of his mum. He took her hands in his as he looked into her eyes a smile grew on her face as tears poured down her cheeks. “My boy.” She said as she pulled him into her arms. The rest of the family stood there unsure who to look at me. Me or him. “Mum I’m so sorry I haven’t came sooner. I was scared to. I’m now allowed to.” He said his voice was shaky; tears filled his eyes as he looked at everyone. He was trying his best to hold in the tears but was failing badly.

“Why did I do that Jess? What if I have to leave?” Tom said to me tears filling his eyes as we got home. I shut the door before turning to look at him. “You won’t have to leave… I need you here.” I said as a few tears started to roll down my cheeks. “I need you Tom.” I whispered as he pulled me tightly into his chest. “Please don’t leave Tom.” I mumbled up at him he frowned as he wiped my tears off my cheeks. “I might not have a choice.” He said as he leaned his chin on the top of my head. I didn’t want to lose him… I was falling for him fast… I truly loved him.
