As Zai'ev and I ran down toward the hangars, several Republic shuttles landed in both forward hangars, dispatching Republic troopers. As soon as Zai'ev and I reached hangar one, it was a warzone: Imperial marines taking cover behind cargo crates and parked starfighters, and Republic soldiers charging in.
"Don't let them get in!" yelled Zai'ev as he charged in with his rifle. Zai'ev hurled a small device to the ground, that within seconds deployed into a protective shield barrier, enough to protect a single person. I ran over to the nearest crate and activated my holocom.
"Vector! SCORPIO!" I yelled; Vector answered immediately.
"What can we assist you with sir?" asked Vector.
"Launch the ship and provide defense to the Titan," I ordered.
"We will get to it right away," replied Vector as he pulled some switches. I deactivate my comm and begin returning fire at the incoming Republic troops that were beginning to surround a D-5 Mantis-class freighter. The back boarding ramp lowered and the hatch opened, making way for Zar'ix and the other hunters to disembark.
Zar'ix took out his pistol and activated his jetpack, rocketing into the air just above the Republic troops. He hurls down volleys of rockets from his wrist-mounted rocket launchers. Veriss and her partner, Jag, charge into the fray as well.
I see another team of Republic troops disembark from a shuttle.
"It's been too long," I started. "Havoc Squad!"
Other Imperial marines looked up at the mention of the most feared Republic attack group. The lead trooper ran with a heavy auto cannon, followed by a team of other Republic troopers and an experimental wardroid.
I take cover behind another crate and begin relaying fire toward Havoc Squad, as do other marines. The lead trooper holds his ground and begins laying down volleys of fire, forcing me and the other marines to take cover.
Zar'ix jets over to the other side and lands right in the fray of Havoc Squad. He activates his flamethrowers and his jets up again, sending flames toward anyone in the affected area. Havoc disperses and two of the troops started focusing on Zar'ix.
Zar'ix jets back to my position, firing at Havoc before sitting behind the crate next to me. The other Imperial marines begin moving in on Havoc, only to get mowed down by the lead trooper.
"These Republic dogs are tough," said Zar'ix as he was releasing heat built up in his gear.
"There's a reason they're the best in the Republic army," I replied as I got up and throw a thermal detonator.
Veriss and Jag rush in toward Havoc, engaging in close quarters combat.
"Looks like we better join the fray!" I said as I slid over the top of the crate, running toward the battle. I hear the sound of a jetpack and see Zar'ix fly right over me and into the fray.
I prep a shiv in my right hand as I sling my rifle over my back. I charge in toward a female trooper, extending one of the shivs toward her, but she dodges, bringing her hand down hard on my arm, causing me to drop my shiv.
I bend my left arm and swing my body over to deliver an elbow blow to the soldier, but she blocked that attack too. I quickly bring up my right hand and land a blow to her gut. She reels back but recovers, pulling her pistol up.
I swing my right leg toward her right arm, kicking her weapon out of her hand. I swing on the heel of my right leg as it lands, sending up my left leg up toward her, landing a blow. She falls back and I run toward her, placing my left hand on her right wrist. I press a button on my wrist device, sending an electric shock through her body.
