Cipher Nine: The Untold Stories

Chapter 13: Endgame

Arymiss throws her lightsaber toward Serevrus as I close the distance, with shivs in hand.  Serevrus blocks the lightsaber and swings against me.  I dodge and break through his defense, landing a shiv in his side. 

Immediately after, Serevrus unleashes only a fraction of his anger toward me, lashing out with his blade.  I narrowly managed to escape as I switch Arymiss as she moves in and makes contact with Serevrus.  I provide cover fire. 

Serevrus lets out another ear-piercing Force scream, stunning Arymiss long enough for him to Force push her against the durasteel wall again, this time incapacitating her.

Serevrus directs his attention to me and begins moving toward me.  I open fire on him, but to no avail.  He redirects all of my blasts.  I reach into the pouches on my belt and pull out a thermal detonator.  I hurl the explosive at the Sith's feet.  It explodes shortly afterward, but that too was to no avail.  

Serevrus soon started charging in toward me.  I increase my blaster volleys as he charges in.  I sling my rifle around me and take out my shivs.

Serevrus swings savagely against me; I narrowly avoid some of his strikes.  Serevrus's savage strikes leave no opening for me to strike.  I keep moving in order to dodge his strikes.  I was just a few meters away from him when a large explosion rocked the ship throughout.  

Serevrus's stance was unbalanced.  I take the opportunity and charge in, managing to stick two shivs into him; one in the thigh, the other just below his ribs.  Serevrus manages me to grab me by my left wrist and hurls me toward a pile of crates nearby.  

I lift myself up slowly.  I look up and see Serevrus's boots in front of me.  He picks me up by my throat, lifting me up high enough to look into his eyes. 

"You were foolish into thinking that you could defy me," said Serevrus.  He tightens his grip on my throat.  

"I was blind to your true intentions and loyalties," continued Serevrus.  "Now look at you.  You are nothing more than a traitor." 

My vision began to fade when I felt Serevrus's grip release.  I fell to the floor, coughing and gasping.  I look up and see Serevrus knocked back several meters.  I look to my left and see Arymiss. 

Arymiss walks over to me and helps me up.  Arymiss smiles and reignites her blade as she jumps in against Serevrus.  I begin charging in as well, wielding my shivs.  As I get closer, I throw two shivs, preparing two more for a close range attack.

Serevrus slices through the first two before locking blades with Arymiss.  I charge in to strike when Serevrus breaks the lock, forcing me to look for another opening as he swings towards me. 

Arymiss strikes and engages in another lock.  I move in from behind and manage to stick a shiv into Serevrus's side, and sticking the other one into his calf.

Serevrus pushes Arymiss away and slashes out at me, just nipping me on my upper arm.  I pull back and take out my rifle.  Arymiss moves in again; I train my rifle on the shivs I had managed to insert. 

I pull the trigger, sending a plasma bolt into Serevrus's midsection.  Serevrus staggers back a little bit, clutching his side.  He sneers as he rips out the shivs from his body.  Dark energy surrounds him as he unleashes a powerful volley of Force lightning toward me.

Arymiss took this opportunity and threw her blade at Serevrus, slashing his cheek, interrupting his volley of lightning.  Serevrus staggers back again. I dodge the remnant of lightning that was hurled at me before running up and joining my sister.  I take out my last two shivs.

"If we're going to end things," I started.  "We need to do it now."

Arymiss nods and increases her grip on her blade. I sling my rifle behind my back.
