'I'm so done with all these idiots who think they know better than me. I've been doing this for so long. Ugh.' You think to yourself as you saddle Jack for your next ride, volunteering again. You tie Jack to the side as a few people come in for horses. You pull forward Romeo and you are greeted by a tall dark haired boy with a cheery grin.
"Hello. I'm Calum." He greets you as you hand over the reins and smile, quietly mumbling your name, this gorgeous boy making you nervous. You quickly explain things to him in a quiet, shaky voice and he listens happily. As you mount Jack, he does the same on Romeo so you guide him and a few others out to trails, coming along somewhere in the middle, wary but intrigued by this overly happy boy. He's very chatty with a blonde boy with a lip ring that's just on your right who he obviously knows, gesturing excitedly as he skilfully guides Romeo.
"Calum?" You ask when he takes a break from talking to his friend and he turns to you eagerly.
"Yeah?" He smiles and his friend looks at you curiously while you look past him to Calum.
"Have you done this before?" You question shyly and he laughs.
"Only once but you know, I kinda picked it up easily." He shrugs, biting his lip slightly, making you feel dizzy. What?
"I-I can see that." You stutter, looking down at you hands that are clasping the reins tightly.
"Oh! How rude of me!" You look up as he laughs. "Hannah this is my friend Luke." He gestures to the blonde boy who gives you a shy emoji kinda smile that makes you giggle. Calum turns away to look at something to the side then gives you his full attention again, not for any particular reason, just looking at you.
"Hi Luke. I'm Hannah." You say to the blonde boy and he laughs.
"Nice to meet you." He chuckles as he fumbles with the reins and your skilled hands quickly fix his mistake, replacing his hands and smiling at him. As Calum stares off into space again, Luke leans toward to.
"Calum has a crush on you." He quickly whispers and you're about to question him when Calum returns his attention to Luke and your shocked face.
"What?" He asks and you shake your head quickly, blushing profusely as Luke just gives him a smug smile. He gives Luke a questioning glance but Luke just smiles as the stables come into view again. You didn't realise you had actually been gone for so long.
"Can I help you with that?" He asks as you tiredly take Jacks saddle off for the day and you turn to give him a shocked look, the saddle still slung over Jacks back.
"N-no I'm f-fine." You stutter and he laughs at you, easily taking the saddle down and moving to hang it up.
"You look fine." He mocks and you fold your arms across your chest as you watch him give jack attention. "I lied when I said I've done this once. I have always loved horses. We had a few when I was younger. Then we needed the money and had to sell them." He says sadly, lightly stroking jack while you move to Romeo and quickly take his saddle off before Calum can try outdo you again. He watches you make your way around as others come and go, the stables pretty much empty aside from the two of you.
"So you know horses?" You question as you put Romeo away and check his feed and water.
"Probably better than you." He teases and you walk closer to him.
"Is that a challenge Calum?" You smirk.
"My last name is Hood. I know you wanted to use my last name there." He chuckles as you take Jack away from him and he follows you to the stall.
"Well Mr.Hood. Are you challenging me?" You smile daringly and he steps closer to you, towering over your short frame easily. Your eyes flicker to his lips as his tongue glides out to wet them and he grins at you.
"I don't want you to hate me when I win." He smirks and you stare back at him as he inches closer.
"What makes you think you'll win?" You challenge and his lips suddenly smash against yours, his hands instantly finding their way to your waist as you kiss him back and grab the nape of his neck, pulling him closer to you.
"Calum." Luke's sharp voice breaks you apart and you back into the wall while Calum gives Luke a look of such hate...
"What?!" He snaps and you bite your lip as Luke rolls his eyes.
"We have to leave. Now." He huffs and walks out.
"I'm sorr-"
"Don't be." You smile shyly and bite your lip.
"I like you Hannah. A lot." He admits and you smile as he pulls you into a warm hug.
"You don't know me at all." You chuckle and he shrugs.
"I'd like to. Then when we get to know each other we can get married and get a farm and have lots of horses and other cute animals like cows and we can live happily ever after with our amazing horses." He laughs cutely, his face scrunching up as you laugh along with his cute little imaginary life.
That doesn't sound too bad at all...
