4 . Invocations / Supplications

We know now about the virtues of remembering Allah SWT , as we have discussed it in last 3 chapters.

In this chapter we will be looking at some invocations but before that we need to know what invocations are , right? :)

Invocation: The act or form of calling for the assistance/aid/help or presence of a superior being especially prayer offered to a divine being.
For us it is Allah SWT , Al-Muttakabir , the Greatest and the Divine. :)

Have you ever noticed that whenever we are in a difficult situation whether it is facing hard questions in exams or where you are doing something wrong and get caught by your parents , we remember Allah SWT, isn't it?
We are like 'Ya Allah save me' 'Ya Allah please make these questions easy for me' 'Ya Allah aid me from these and I'll pray two rakahs extra nafl' , aren't we?
Well of course we are!
We remember Him while we are in difficulties and forget Him while in happy situations.
That's what we do.
That's also a type of Invocation , a call to Him from us during difficulties. But Allah the Al Rahman , Al-Rahim answers us.

This is totally different and quite selfish of us if we do this , I say.
Because He is meant to remember in every situation, every happiness , every celebration as He is remembered in every sorrow , every pain and every difficulty.
He is meant to remember day and night.
He is meant to be grateful to every now and then.

Let's proceed to the main point then , shall we ?
These days when we wake up, the first thing we have in our mind are our cellphones.
Who messaged us , who emailed us , Is there a new update of certain story on wattapad , YouTube and much more!
Well maybe everyone out there isn't like this but majority of people out there certainly behave this way.
The thought of remembering Allah SWT is far away from our thoughts.
Bitter truth , isn't it?
Let's be honest , it definitely is true.

To be more honest, we wake up just because Allah willed.
If He hadn't willed , we would have been dead in sleep.
The little we can do to be grateful to Allah SWT is thank Him for new day, new opportunities and begin our day with His words , His dhikr and supplicating Him.

When Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) woke up from his sleep, he would say: "Al-hamdu lil-lahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana; wa ilaihi an-nushur

Translation: All the Praises are for Allah Who has made us alive after He made us die (sleep) and unto Him is the Resurrection."

"لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدَ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ. سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ للهِ، ولَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ العَلِيِّ الْعَظيِمِ، ربِّ اغْفِرلِي".

2. Laa 'illaha 'illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa 'alaa kulli shay'in Qadeer Subhaanallahi, walhamdu lillaahi, wa laa 'ilaha 'illallahu, wallaahu 'akbar, wa laa hawla wa laa Quwwata 'illaa billaahil-'Aliyyil-'Adheem, Rabbighfir lee.

There is none worth of worship but Allah alone, Who has no partner, His is the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is able to do all things. Glory is to Allah. Praise is to Allah. There is none worth of worship but Allah. Allah is the Most Great. There is no might and no power except by Allah's leave, the Exalted, the Mighty. My Lord, forgive me.

Reference: Whoever says this will be forgiven, and if he supplicates Allah, his prayer will be answered; if he performs ablution and prays, his prayer will be accepted. Al-Bukhari, cf. Al-Asqalani, Fathul-Bari 3/39, among others. The wording here is from Ibn Majah 2/335

It's beautiful way of starting our day my brothers and sisters. :)
He gave us life , thank Him when you wake up.
Anyways we reach out to our phone then why not for something good and rewarding?
Even though you haven't by-hearted it, you can always reach out to your phone for this, open wattapad and recite it till the day you have actually learned it.
May Allah SWT make it easy for us , Āamîn. :)

Make dua for guidance and forgiveness. :)
Take all the advantage of the opportune time and don't forget to recite Surat Al-Kahf.
