Three Years

Chapter Four - Attack

Hello guys!

And guess who is still late? I am really sorry for the delay, I was abroad and did not have a lot of time, I will normally be more regular now.

Also, I don't know if someone would be interested in it, but I reiterate my announce: I am looking for a beta-reader for this story, because I am not native English and I want to avoid as much than possible all the mistakes which will disturb the reading or the comprehension of the story.

Well, I don't know what else to say, so let's have the four chapter.

"Hey, calm down, calm down! Yes, like this." The scientist's breath became calm. "So, what happened ?"

"It's... It's terrible !"
"What is terrible ?" Asked Katell.
"The duo of the Lumiose Badlands, the ones who caused the explosion... They attack us !"

     The time was suspended. None of them dare breath. The laboratory was attacked? Nobody wanted to believe it. The silence was oppressive. This heavy atmosphere was only broken when a strange crackling was heard, and the light went off.

     Immediately, Y called her Fletchinder. The little flame she produced was enough for the room. X asked :
"Do you know why they attack you ?"
"You seriously think we do ?" answered Titouan. "Of course we don't."
"Maybe they want to destroy some proofs of the explosion" added Katell. "In all case, we can't let them destroy the lab. Titouan, make your work for once !"
"Why have you to be so strict, you're idiot !"

     But the man executed the order and left the room. After a little look at each other, X and Y followed him, but were interrupted by Katell :
"What are you doing ?"
"Isn't it obvious ?" Answered Y. "We can't let these people attack the lab without riposting !"
"It doesn't concern you, it concerns the lab! You don't have to get involved in it !"
"And what if we do? These two persons, they are the ones who caused the explosion in the Badlands, and now they attack you? They are a danger! What if someone gets injured? Some people already died! We have to stop them." Replied the flying trainer.
"But you are not concerned by this case, right ?"
"We are if we decide we are, or we decided we are so we are."
"Seriously, why I have to reason with such these teens, they are too annoying" groaned the manager. "Do what you want, but don't complain if you are in trouble !"
"Of course !" answered Y, who was already leaving the room with her friend.

     Outside, it was chaos. Everybody was running. The green lights of the emergency doors and some fire and electric Pokémons were the only things which lighted the hallways and projected some gloomy shadows on the walls. The scientists fled with some of their research. Some explosion sounds were occasionally heard.

     In this chaos, it was difficult for the duo to advance. In this building they did not know, in the hallways which all look the same, and the empty laboratory, deserted by the scientists, they could only get lost. The time passed, but they had no idea of where could be the attackers, and they could only feel powerless. This was frustrating, and quickly, after opening an umpteenth door, X said :
"Y, wouldn't it be easier if we go out? Maybe we'll see more easily where these people are, notably if you fly."
"I don't have enough time to prepare my suit, unhappily, but maybe you can see with Salamè while I'll look for them with Croaky ?"
"It's probably the best thing to do. But if you see them, be careful please."
"I'm the one who should say it !"
