This chapter will be kind of sad, I guess.

-------------------------------------

It's been about 3 weeks since Tony sent Ruby to live in Queens and he started to get nervous. He had a court meeting in a few minutes and he was afraid he'll mess it up. But he was confident he'll be able to get Ruby's name clear sooner or later.

He was standing outside the court room as Pepper Potts walked over to him. It feels like years since Tony spoke to her rather than a few months. In these months Tony discovered he had a daughter and that the war crime aka Bucky Barnes was the person who killed his parents. It has been a very tough few months for him, but he's used to it by now.

"Next time you have a child I better not know it from the news." Pepper told him. "Anyways, how are you holding up?"

"I'm fine." Tony said

"Ok, well it's time." Pepper said and walked to the door.

Both of them entered the court room and sat down with everyone else. The Judge took his seat and the case began.

"So, today's case it about the daughter of Anthony Edward Stark." The Judge started. "Ruby Maria Stark is a 14 year old girl with unknown and dangerous powers . . ."

As the case continued, Tony tried as much as he can to defend Ruby but unfortunately Secretary Ross was there too.

"Your honor, if I might add." Secretary Ross started. "This girl has no record in any of our systems. No birth certificate, no passport, and no ID. And for all we know, she might not be 14. She has been a ghost ever since she was born."

"Hmm. What do you say about this, Mr. Stark?" The Jude asked.

"I'm not gonna lie. Ruby does not have any of those, but it's not her fault." Tony said. "A year ago there was an organization called HYDRA which I'm pretty sure you're familiar with. HYDRA kidnapped Ruby and took her to their labs which resulted into making her their puppet. What she told me is that they injected her with some kind of chemicals which caused her to gain her powers."

"But, wait a minute. You said she was kidnapped." Secretary Ross said and Tony nodded. "Then why wasn't there any missing person report?"

"Ruby was uh . . . she was left on the street when she was a kid." Tony said and fought the urge to kick Secretary Ross in the place where the sun doesn't shine.

"So the girl was not actually kidnapped, she was taken from the street. Now why would you leave her there, Mr. Stark?" Secretary Ross asked with a smirk.

"I...I didn't know I had a child at that time . . ." He said quietly. "But, Ruby had been through enough already. She didn't do anything wrong-"

"She has powers beyond our knowledge, it's risky to let her walk the world without knowing what they are-" Secretary Ross yelled.

"She just a kid-" Tony yelled back

"Silence!!!" The Judge yelled. "Mr. Stark, I have one last question for you. Do you know where your daughter is?"

"Will you hand her over to Ross if I did?" Tony asked

"There is a chance that could happen." The Judge answered

"Then no." Tony said and looked at Ross's red furious face. "I don't know where she is."

"I have proof that he's hiding her, your honor." Secretary Ross said

"And what's your proof, Secretary Ross?" The Judge asked

"There has been a large draw from the bank." Secretary Ross said as Tony turned pale. "It seems as if Mr. Stark had rented an apartment in Queens . . ."
