Two Poles Apart

Chapter 16

Susan:

        Next day I woke up just after the dawn at 5 am. In my pajamas I went downstairs, excited for opening the gifts I recieved yesterday which were kept under the tree. I went near the tree and start unwrapping suprises kept in those gifts. Frist, I open the gift which was beautifully wrapped in red paper and the card stick on it,  tells me it was from my mom. I open it and suprised to see the beautiful hand woven pink color crochet jacket. Now the next gift was from my dad. It was a new Iphone X which I wanted from the day I have heard about its features. And now the next gift was from Robert's granny. It was a beautiful red dress and a daimond earings with it . It was really expensive gift. One side I was happy seeing all the gifts and other side there was one thing which worry me the most. And it was about the questions I had to faced on the breakfast table. I quickly went back to my room and took a shower. After getting ready I went down praying to God help me to face all that questions. I went to the table and as my routine I arrange the plates and wished my mom dad. My mom was staring me and my dad was quiet. As I started eating toast my dad asked me," Did you like that boy? "
 
       This question gave me a mental shock. Sudden question like this from my parents leave me in a confusion. Frist, whether I should say yes or no and second, what will they react on my answer. After soo much struggle among my thoughts I said ," Dad I wanted to say you and mom before but I did'nt get proper time to talk. I and Robert are dating from last two months and I had started liking him. "
 
    " What! You like that boy. Why did'nt you tell us before about this?"  My mom shouted from the other side. Then my dad utter something more strange which was completely unexpected , " My dear are you sure you like him? I had'nt have much talked with him but I can say he is very decent and understanding person. Are you both sure for your relationship? "
   " Yes offcourse we are sure about this relationship dad."
  "Okay. But don't indulge yourself so much that it hurts and give you pain. We have seen this world more than you. In college we have attraction to opposite sex its normal, but sometimes people are with us, just to use us. So be in a relation but , make sure it should not hurt you later. "

         Listening my dad's words gave me a major shock. Being a girl's father, his conciousness towards his only daughter is not illegal. I love my parents as they are just perfect. To make him feel comfortable , in a humble manner I told him , " Dad I understand your words. Trust me Robert is not a cheater. The change you see in your daughter is just because of him. And dad, above all I am your blood , and your blood can never do wrong things."
      " I am proud of you my child and I have complete trust on you."
          
     Then he went in his room and as per his routine he get busy in reading books as it was his favourate time pass. It was a pleasant day with no tension of going college due to winter vacations which will last till feburary. It was 12 in the noon and due to snow outside, one cannot go for a walk. I sit on the sofa in the hall and planned to watch some movie. I check my box of drives and got my favourate movie ," The Angels and Demons". I loaded the cd in the player and took a packet of beans and jumped on the sofa. The whole afternoon I was indulge in watching movie. After sometime, I feel drizzy and fall asleep on a sofa itself.

Robert:
 
         I was still in bed due to severe headache and little body pain. What a hell it was ! In a pleasant day with snow outside and you cannot go out for ice staking due to pain. My  granny gave me pills but it seem to have no effect on me. I was laying on my bed with the blanket and watching out kids playing in snow. This reminds me of my childhood when I and my friends make snow balls and throw on one another. How cute those days were. I was laying with my thoughts and suddenly my granny knock the door. She had brought herbal soup, which was her secret reciepe that could drive anyone's headache. But the taste of that was worst. She knew I will not eat that so she sit beside me till I completed that. After completing that I went in deep sleep again.
       In my sleep I did'nt felt when time has change to 7 pm. When I woke up, my headache had vanish and I was feeling much better than before. My granny's soup was like a magic spell. Then, I called my friends john and jasper for a short get together in snowy night. We planned to play hockey with skating in a snow lake. We three were join by other boys who were already playing there the same. It was a fun but little risky too. One wrong move and you will fall, and get yourself injured. After finishing the game, we planned to go to jasper's house for having more fun. We order some pizza's with champagne bottles. Jasper search for some horror movies in his box. Finally he found out
"The Exorcists" and loaded it under the player. While watching movie we eat pizza with few glasses of chmpagne. I usually dont drink, accept on certain occasions. After sometime I felt my eyes shattering down again. Three of us slept together in messy way like creepy creatures. I slept on sofa with my legs hanging down it. John sleep on ground and jasper slept in the same way like me in opposite side of sofa. The whole night I spend there at jasper's place.
