Unreachable - Kuroko Tetsuya x Reader

Today would mark the beginning of a new life. Today was the day you were going to confess to Kuroko Tetsuya. Although you were quite nervous, you knew you had to tell him before you lose him. You had met the boy during your years in Teiko, and it was a rather peculiar meeting. It wasn't every day that some guy with light blue hair suddenly appears out of no where at the convenience store, scaring the crap out of you. Anyways, you two ordered some popsicles and instantly hit it off. Once you learned that he was going to Seirin, you had followed him there.

"(Name)-chan, are you coming?" Kuroko asks. You two, along with Kagami were walking to school.     

Jumping a little, awoken from your nostalgia, you call, "Y-yes, coming!" You quicken your pace to catch up with Kuroko and Kagami.    

-Time skip to basketball practice (cuz no one cares about the classes)-

You watched in awe, as the Seirin team played so skillfully. You were paying the most attention to a certain Phantom Sixth Man. "Hey (Name)-chan, looking at Kuroko-kun?" Riko asks, nudging you with her elbow.    

"A-ah Riko-san! N-no, not really. I'm just really astounded by his passes, that's all." You deny. Riko, not exactly believing you, drops the topic anyway.

"Well, good luck on your confession." She says. You flinch a little - how did she know?!?!. 

"Riko, I-"     

"Tetsu-kun!" Momoi, a very voluptuous girl, enters the gym and latches onto Kuroko's arm.    

"Momoi-san, what are you doing here?" Kuroko questions with a slight blush. Your heart tightens. She was why you were so nervous to tell Kuroko of your feelings. You had to compete with someone so beautiful and talented, with long silky pink hair and peach-colored eyes. She also had a vast intelligence on the sport Kuroko loved most. Not to mention that bust of hers - you had nothing on that.    

"Touou didn't have basketball practice today, so I had some free time. Of course I'd come visit my boyfriend!" Momoi states happily. You sigh, knowing that you couldn't approach Kuroko until after she leaves. He was so overwhelmed by her, even though he didn't necessarily show it facially. Well, her large breasts were pressed onto his arm, so who wouldn't be a bit distracted? You just watched from afar - suddenly, it felt as if the roles were reversed. You were the shadow, completely unnoticed and insignificant.    

After Momoi begins to walk away, but not without leaving a slightly dazed Kuroko, you go up to him and ask, "Hey, Kuroko-kun? Can we meet up at Maji Burger in an hour?". He agrees, but is still watching Momoi leave, and you two walk home. You guys left in different directions, as you lived on a separate street from him, but you felt as if there was more to this split. You felt he was moving even further away from your grasp.    

Half an hour later, you're at Maji Burger in the usual spot by the window. You went early because you couldn't stop pacing at home and felt almost suffocated. You hoped that this new environment would calm you, but it only caused you more anxiety. Your (e/c) eyes closed, as you waited for him.    

Twenty minutes later, Kuroko arrives as well. Ordering two vanilla milkshakes, you two drank in silence. "Um, so what did you call me for, (Name)-chan?", he inquires.     

You suddenly stood up, and stutter, "K-Kuroko-kun! I love you!". You stare at him, waiting for a response, noticing how he instantly became uncomfortable.

"(Name)-chan, I'm sorry but I-" He starts, but you interrupt. 

"Ahahaha, I'm just kidding! It was a joke, I just wanted to see your reaction!" You pretend to laugh. "I-it's not like I really wanted to tell you that I've been in love with you since middle school." Your facade was peeling, and you began full-blown crying. "Besides, you've fallen for Momoi-san, and even an idiot like me could see that. Obviously, she loves you too. Haha, I'm so stupid."

"(N-name)-chan-"     

"I really hope you two live a happy life, Kuroko-kun." you give one last teary smile and run out of Maji Burger.    

"(Name)-chan!" Kuroko calls and runs after you. "Please wait!" You cross the street and the light turns red. His eyes widen. "(NAME)-CHAN!"

A bus rams into your frail body and blood -your blood- splatters everywhere. On your clothes, the ground, the vehicle, on Kuroko...     

"I-I'm sorry, Kuroko-kun. I just really love you. I really do. I wanted to reach you - to touch you. I'm sorry I failed."     

"(NAME)-CHAN!" His voice was the last thing you heard, and his beautiful sky blue eyes were the last thing you saw. 'I really want to see you again, Kuroko-kun.' All you see now is darkness.
